And yeah, 'almost' 🤣🤣🤣. I'd like to believe my hill climbing days are still ahead of me. My knees and arthritis might need to be convinced! 🤣

There is a wild corridor (council owned) at the bottom of my garden. Huge tall trees. It's amazing! All the birds, insects, & various critters that visit the garden is joyful. Trees/branches have come down in storms, causing damage, which was stressful - but I'd still hate to see them cut back!

More and more, for me the point of art in any form is: how do we stay human?

This sounds fascinating! I'm already quite interested in what AI means for our ability to tolerate uncertainty, and I love your 'risk' framing here. I'm a bit far (!) to commit to a series of events unfortunately, but I'd really love to hear more about your research on this!

Ooh, hadn't checked to see if she's touring. (I didn't make the Agnes Obel gig in the end, on account of skewering my foot with my bookbinding scalpel 2hrs before I was planning on leaving the house, so had to keep my foot in the air all evening to try and stop the bleeding. 😱)

I'm in a Facebook group that provides advice and help on energy bills in the UK. From time to time I'll click through to the comments on a post from someone who's struggling to pay what they owe, or who has gotten into debt, and friends... We are not ready for what's coming. 1/5

I made the mistake of watching the show before reading the book, which always makes the subsequent book read harder for me. (The Hobbit was another example of this). Might give it another try now though, that more time has passed

"this shit ruled when I didn't know the artist was a dick, but now it's all I can think about when in see it" is perfectly valid, cos it is one of the times you actually get to make a personality out of something, which is to say, constant, principled, thoughtful evaluation of what you enjoy.

I managed to catch 'Afterlife', an exhibition by Katie Paterson whilst it was on in Edinburgh - it's a collection of 200-ish small amulets, created with materials from endangered landscapes and fragile ecosystems and formed into cultural/spiritual iconography. Sharing a few powerful pieces below. 🧵
