Just for some context... Rogers didn't accept the invitation in the first place. The blurb in the embed frames it as if he accepted and then ditched, "forcing" El-Sayed to stand there alone, but in truth he did not agree to attend and El-Sayed decided to have a solo event.

I enjoyed Persona 4 right up until the school schedule part of the game started and immediately dropped it, cold turkey. I knew it was coming but thought maybe I could enjoy it somehow, but nope. Awful feelings. Could not shake. Out the window it went.

I think the concept that one _could_ disobey the god and thus needed to be repeatedly told not to contradicts that interpretation. People programmed to do exactly what the god wants wouldn't need that and wouldn't (with great frequency) decide to do something else.

Someone asked me (elsewhere) whether I think we should "forget" about it. It's not that we should forget, it's that we did forget. If we really remembered 9/11, then we'd provide healthcare, we'd *learn* from our mistakes, and we'd start to do better. That's what I want us to do.

The similar horrors inflicted by USA leadership upon its own people and upon others don't get memorials. The way we learned nothing from it and the aftermath really makes a "memorial" feel more to me like an insult to those who died than an honor. It's all about us, not about them.

We learned no good lessons from the event. It was used by politicians to whip up the American public into a vengeful fantasy in order to justify inflicting further suffering on people both foreign and domestic. Surveillance of American citizens greatly expanded and has never been reined in.

This is why I'm not a big fan of "nine eleven" memorials in the USA. I see our obsession with 2001 as performative victimhood while we try to dodge any responsibility to the people who were actually hurt by the event. I'm not saying you shouldn't have them; I'm saying they're not enough.

I'm not sure if they actually have to allow you to file a counter-notice; the point of my comment is that YouTube and evidently Facebook both have processes by which companies can attack your accounts without involving the protections of the DMCA at all.

Only if it _is_ a DMCA claim. Sites must accept DMCA claims at minimum (though some companies exercise judgement to ignore some that are clearly unjustifiable), but they can take your stuff down for any reason. That includes "because some guy asked us to", without the DMCA being involved.
