NPQH assessment period has arrived and with it the dread! Best of luck to anyone else tackling it over the next week and being bitter about the gorgeous weather #NPQH #Headteacher

Look after yourself- don’t try to do too much too quickly

Charlie Pearson @cornishwelsh.bsky.social · 04/02/2025

I can’t do either when the head’s out 🤣 but it’s something I’m building into the timetable for next year for all of SLT. That’s a great mindset though - I have to do a daily reset where I weigh up all of the pluses as well as the minuses - it’s the only way through

Does anyone just spend the entire time cringing when watching the apprentice- I don’t think I can watch anymore

Limit weekend working Netball twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday Putting on the do not disturb on my door when I have vital work to do Blocking into my timetable where I don’t have any lessons and don’t plan any meetings to potentially do big thinking work

Yes definitely- I’m hoping not to scare them off! And also talk about strategies for looking after themselves. Something that I’ve needed jumping up to deputy this year 🤣

I’m doing a training session for hosting aspiring to senior leadership and thought I’d include a few ‘day in the life’ examples - would anyone care to share a typical day in the life as assistant or deputy head?

Would you help me with a bit of research I'm doing, please? Working in schools in 2024 is challenging - but can also be hugely rewarding. What qualities do we need/want from the adults working in our schools today?
