In late 2020 volunteers seeded an area @ Derby Road station to create a wildflower meadow. Annually, after the flowers die back, it's strimmed; the seeds then drop. Today volunteers raked the meadow & put the stalks into on-site compost bins. A frog, firebug & ladybirds were observed in the meadow.

It was a fantastic platform performance yesterday @ Felixstowe station. The Level Two Youth Project kicked off Felixstowe Heritage Open Days Weekend telling the story of the Dunkirk evacuation through dance, poetry and spoken word, based on Winston Churchill's speech 'We Shall Fight on the Beaches'.

Greater Anglia Halesworth has received Wildlife Friendly accreditation from the region's Wildlife Trusts. An ecologist’s report praised station adopters Charles, Moyra and Valerie for the addition of planters @ strategic locations which benefit biodiversity and provide a food source for pollinators.

Another Greater Anglia station has received ‘Wildlife Friendly’ accreditation from the area's Wildlife Trusts. It's Trimley and thanks to station adopter Tom. He's been taking care of the station flowers for a decade. There's no water supply so he brings water when Mother Nature turns off the tap!

Today was our 2nd Crab-a-train of 2026! At Halesworth we went by train to Woodbridge & walked to the quay. Woody caught two crabs he named Tommy and Clawry. Annabel caught a fish she named Scowls! All were released to the water. Thanks to Deben Yacht Club for use of their facilities. #Daysoutbyrail
