it is interesting that I can't find any mainstream media coverage of Altman's sister Annie going viral on social media over the weekend for uploading footage of the first hour of her deposition in her lawsuit against him (one of two) in which she is alleging years of CSA

I search for what I want using DuckDuckGo's no AI option, then choose the IG link from there. Yes, it sucks to need to go to those lengths. But it works.

My partner bought me a Mont Blanc for an anniversary many years ago. It is lovely and gorgeous. And I am terrified to use it half the time too.

I have seen a few people post about inexpensive fountain pens they like, so I found a Hongdian for my collection. It's not bad, actually. It's not the best pen I own, but that isn't the point. It seems to be a solid carry around with me pen, with less fear of losing it. I can live with that.

Note, things are different in this municipal election. Make sure you know how to vote so your ballot counts and isn't considered spoiled.

We made up our minds that "AI is Bad" because IT'S BUILT WITH THE STOLEN SUM TOTAL OF OUR LIFE'S WORK, for which we have received no real recompense or restitution. Our labor is being blatantly exploited to create these products, and I have increasing contempt for people who elide that fact.

I complained to the City that they enclosed my voting info in an envelope addressed to my tenant. As he's under no obligation to tell me, it's a great way to suppress votes and disengage voters. She said it's a cost savings. LOVELY. (She also tried to deflect and put onus on me...nope)

Also, pay attenrion to how you mark your ballot. Here they suddenly say an X is spoiling the ballot, you have to colour in the whole circle. In spite of the marketing logo saying "Vote" with an X in the O!

I love how the ads for Muse on FB and IG talk about taking things off my plate and then give examples of things I have never once thought of doing, nor would I do them, so how were they ever on my plate to begin with?

Neuroscientist here. I have studied the brain for 40 years. I make serious use of machine learning and AI in my research. Sam Altman is full of shit. These machines are not conscious, any more than a movie of a train coming out of the screen is a train. AI does remarkable things but isn’t real.

Today I was feeling depressed. Then a really good song came up on my playlist, from a show I had watched and enjoyed, and within a few seconds I was bopping along to it like a teenager, and I felt about 100lbs lighter. Music rescued my day. It was glorious.

"internal test software reached customers by mistake" No they forgot to add in constraints to make it impossible to merge code in the wrong branch without authorisation or review. They possibly missed a test environment altogether. It should take a lot of checks to have code advance i to production

I hope you are promoting this heavily outside of social media as well so older folks and those not online know. Because this is a huge change from previous elections and is going to cause a lot of confusion.

When voting in the upcoming municipal election (or, after this, ANY election) double check how they want you to mark the ballot and don't assume it's an X. Because suddenly it isn't.

Burger flipping is HARD. I struggle to burger flip for the two people in my house every third Wednesday (roughly). Doing it hundreds of times in a day, every day, for months or years on end? The person flipping those burgers has earned the right to a decent wage.
