I first read it in my Honors Seminar course in undergrad & was just completely blown away. I still have the same highlighted, underlined, dog-eared, cracked spine copy. I still recommend it to people. I feel like it rewired my brain, & I’m so grateful to Mrs. Thompson for assigning it.

I’ve wondered about the county jail in my community. There has been a sizable uptick in MISC BORDER HOLD & ICE HOLD on the roster in a facility that’s most often over capacity. I know county jail isn’t the same system as TDCJ, but how do we have room to spare for ICE?
