My mother has just done the great "take the family photos" handover. It was oddly emotional to see my first study, in the first house Chef and I purchased. I did not choose that wallpaper. Posters, 100% mine. What was your first study like?

You would think, after four years of this commercial AI-BS I could write a set of guidelines for historians without being interrupted by tech-bros confessing to something stupid. This means I then have to -research the stupid act - explain the stupid act - remind historians they have ethics.

How many craft projects does it take to keep me out of the office on a rainy weekend? Five and a small lego kit. Working from a home space has challenges, especially when I'm mid-writing for a project and the weather's miserable. But taking breaks on weekends... It's such a privilege to do so.

I put this cross-stitch down months ago last year, as Chef had extended leave due to an injury. And what good is a Xmas surprise if he sees it being made? In the meantime, I completed little projects. And now I've come back to it with more skills, a keener eye, and a happiness to be back at it.
