On the extremely low end of cooking: cans of black beans are easy to heat up. Just add seasoning or salsa. Smoked salmon, on crackers with cheese or instant rice. Kirkland frozen breakfast sandwiches are bomb. 140

Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 27/09/2026I wouldn't have been able to solve one of these on my own a week or two ago (or at least, nowhere nearly this fast). It's pretty cool to see the progress of a puzzle going from unapproachable to satisfying. That's the curve I was aiming for. 020

Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 24/09/2026Typically, when you run out of moves that are pure number/color alone, that's the signal it's combo time. On a 4x4 day it almost always revolves around either the four remaining spots for a number/color there's already a pair of, or filling out the other half of a group you've got half of. 000
Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 24/09/2026The parts where you need to combine number+color are the hard part of the game. Usually you can get there by looking at the color/number already most represented. Here, focus on blue. You still need a blue 1, 2, and 3 somewhere on the board, with four possible spots left. Game out the possibilities 110

Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 23/09/2026TIL there's a Safari bug that messes up border radius on outlines with negative offset. Image shows the same button in Chrome, FF, and Safari. Chrome and FF render the inner outline with the proper radius to match the outer border; Safari doesn't, so the corners are visibly mismatched. 261

Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 22/09/2026In 2012, I was working in a restaurant that had done a Groupon, and everyone who bought it came in on the very last day it was valid. It was madness. This old drunk guy got super pissed his order was taking forever and yelled at the manager, "I'M GONNA BLOG YER ASS!" I just love that sentence. 1272
Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 21/09/2026Looking at numbers alone, there are two ways you could place your remaining two 1's on the board (B2+C4, or the inverse; B4+C2). However, only one of those two options allows there to be a green 1. 010
Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 21/09/2026That one's admittedly a tough clue (especially for early in a Monday puzzle). When this game's tricky, it's usually the third rule; there has to be exactly one instance of every color+number combo. Here, there are two 1's on the board. Neither is/can be green, so one of the unplaced 1's must be... 110
Josh Collinsworth @collinsworth.dev · 21/09/2026The initial learning curve is a little steep, for what it's worth; it's hard to retrain your brain to look at both dimensions together and not just play sudoku. Once it clicks it's a lot less daunting. Thanks for trying it out! 😄 120
