Went to see this tonight. Part of a regional showing through Japanese Film Club. A surprisingly quiet and still film – lots of locked off camera work. Some terrific performances showing the camaraderie of being in a band. A band that sounds like a band too. Loved it. Wanna form a band?

It’s 2026, AI is on the rise and we still have Courtroom Artists. I find it so weird. Always hated them. What they produce is like state-sanctioned prosopagnosia for self-loathing pastelists. Maybe their days are numbered too.

Today I found out a printer has changed the artwork I sent them and has installed wall vinyl and signage that doesn’t work. They won’t change it and I can’t make them because my client appointed them. So, in a way, he’s their client and he’s happy with it all EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN’T WORK. 😡

Here’s me and my old friend, Tim. Born four days after me and 58 years ago today. He took his own life in 2012. It’s been almost impossible to understand how it could’ve happened, but I’m grateful he was around for as long as he was. Look after yourselves, and one another.

The story of these antique mirrors on BBC’s Money for Nothing, upcycled by someone who doesn’t know how to paint, is quite the victory for capitalism over art.

The same three antique mirrors now painted in acrylics. One has sardines, another has flowers and the small one is of sea waves.

The woman who painted the mirrors talking to the previous owner of the mirrors. The subtitle is “And I have got some money for you because they have been sold”.

The previous owner of the mirrors with a shocked expression. She says, “Oh, lovely. Thank you.” The reply is, “I’ve got £410 here.”

A builder bought a house round the corner from me, and has stripped out all character and installed grey carpets everywhere. They’ve also ripped out the front garden and laid tarmac over it. It’s the work of philistines and it makes me sad and angry.
