Today would have been my mom’s 82nd birthday. She died this summer. This is the first birthday without her. So, in our family group text, my sister posted that she had made “golden chicken pasta”, my mom’s favorite comfort food.

I’ve been complaining incessantly that I need a new sticker design. Well, I guess that @jenleepa.bsky.social was tired of hearing it, because she commissioned her child G to design a new one for me. Behold!

One of my friends came up with the brilliant idea of parents telling their kids that they were going to take a photo of each of their fingers and then they’d just delete the other ones. All of these babies are grown up now.

In exchange, I’ve asked friends for photos of them flipping me off (or flippies), which was my birthday project 12 years ago. I now have just short of 2500 flippies in my collection. And I treasure them all. There are a least a dozen friends who are no longer with us. This is a perfect remembrance.

For my birthday project this year, I’ve been learning to carve rubber stamps. I wanted to make something that I could customize so that all of my friends could get an original piece of art. This is what I came up with. Thank you all for your kind words and support. I hope to get better at it.
