My Github repository contributions. 2009 -> 2026. Can you tell when Agentic AI really came into our lives?

Misconception: With all them AI advancements I spend my days idling as the agents do 10x work and I finish my work faster. Reality: Managing 3-5 agents at a time... Multi tasking and context switching like mad... I am busier than ever in fact...

An ex-colleague studies Applied AI MSc in an attempt to become more prepared for the AI job apocalypse and I ask... What makes you think that an AI can't do back propagation or setup a deep neural net or use TensorFlow on your behalf hence taking said AI-specialist job?

My former boss is currently at Anthropic and hiring. I assume publicly disagreeing with the org won't do me any favors... but neither will quietly allowing cybersecurity to be outlawed. Companies that can't secure their systems are lecturing us on cybersecurity and taking tools from defenders

This could be the greatest piece of art ever created or, conversely, a construction not even worthy of a Devonshire wine tavern called something like the Barrel and Bough. I haven't made up my mind yet. #art

Weird times to be alive. Asked ChatGPT to get an offer for last year's trip to Athens so I can compare and book again this year. Without asking, it fetched the details from last year from gmail, prepped the draft and emailed their account asking for a good offer with all details. GG

It’s important to understand that anyone worth their salt in Linux and systems admin would be able to effectively lock down a sandbox so agents go absolutely nowhere. This is a big show aimed at, you guessed it, keep the hype going. eoinhiggins.substack.com/p/there-are-...

There are no “rogue” AI agents
Identifying them as such only lets companies like OpenAI off the hook.

Around this time four years ago, we decided to move back to Greece after 12 years in Ireland. Many thought it was a foolish move. Others bet we'd return for work. Few, if any, thought we'd prosper and find our sense of well-being and belonging back home.

One of the greatest enemies of computers is plain dust. When I was a teenager, my cousins Bernie and George unknowingly put me on the path to becoming a computer scientist. I vividly remember Bernie showing me his green-screen Amstrad and warning me about its greatest enemy: dust.

Sometimes buying a library or something off the shelf saves enough hours from your development team which justifies paying not just for today but for tomorrow as well since every line of code written has an invisible maintenance tag on it.
