Learnt that combining `requestIdleCallback` with dynamic `import` can give your site a nice initial load performance boost as it delays loading of split code that isn't needed for first paint. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W... #webdev #performance
export const whenIdle = (callback: () => void, timeoutDelay = 200): void => {
  if (window.requestIdleCallback) {
    window.requestIdleCallback(callback, { timeout: timeoutDelay });

    return;
  }

  // Fallback for unsupported browsers
  setTimeout(callback, timeoutDelay);
};

I like Anker's Soundcore earbuds but the official software keeps up-selling me and now pushes an AI assistant, when all I want to do is change my earbud settings. Fortunately, the open source community has stepped in and made an alternative management app github.com/Oppzippy/Ope...

Endlessly throwing pots of spiders at your enemies just best. The witch doctor in Diablo 3 is the ultimate class.

I'm late to the party but Megabonk is one hell of a fun game.

I forgot to mention that every easing can also be used in pure CSS, no JS required, including the spring curves!

If nothing else comes from all the AI fever, I'm happy to see the increased adoption of Markdown as a plain text format.

Mario Wonder is a delight.

This has over 268k signatures now, and the more, the merrier! If you're in the UK and haven't signed this, please do so! There are two days until a debate date is set, and the weight of numbers is important. The damage this and the payment processor puritanism are doing is substantial.

PS2 emulation works amazingly well on the Steam Deck. I just started Dragon Quest VIII and it looks amazing! #emulation #steamdeck

Just learnt about `ksmbd`, a Linux kernel SMB server introduced in 5.15 and stable since 6.6—perfect for Raspberry Pi OS on 6.6. It enables faster Samba SMB file shares without needing `samba` and its heavy dependencies. Simple, efficient, and high-performance. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KSMBD

This is a super cool project by Mihai Parparita to make classic Mac and NeXT emulation easily accessible in your browser. Play with all these old machines without installing anything. Neat! It uses WebAssembly ports of Mini vMac, Basilisk II, SheepShaver, DingusPPC, and Previous. infinitemac.org
