Wow, holy crap. The current state of PPSSPP might be the perfect example of going off the deep end with AI slop in software dev. What I'm showing in these screenshots goes on for dozens and dozens of pages. This emulator is straight up exclusively developed by Claude now.

I love the Doronbo Gang #art #fireemblem #fefw

The main Saramis trio; Bonaventure, Theodora, & Tobias from Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. All three posed and drawn in a way that calls back and is tribute to the Doronbo Gang from the classic anime, Yatterman.

Theodora being Doronjo, Bonaventure as Boyacky, & Tobias as Tonzura.

Their team name, "Megaira's Beacon," from when they participate during the Heroic Games is written above them.

Excuse me wtf is this. We all know what's missing here and the obvious absence just makes it more noticeable.

Magic card called Dance with Goblins. David Bowie as the Goblin King is there but his signature bulge is not.

Should you check? Yes. Are you likely affected? No. Does this affect all overlays? No. You can also mitigate this by filtering the links that are posted in chat or disable links all together. I'd suggest filtering. If you are affected, my commissions are open, I can fix overlays for like $20.

To make it easier, here's a dirty check if your overlay does suffer from regular injection by pasting the attached message into a twitch chat. If your chat overlay no longer has a transparent background and/or reloads (after 1 second or immediately), then it is affected.

Okay a tiny thread because people are going to freak out: This exploit in particular takes advantage of a special command that renders images (via attribute escape). If you have an overlay that processes images (most don't) then yes, this is your problem. Overlay must explicitly create img DOM.

A picture of the exploit, using a command that explicitly includes an image file extension, but also would escape out of the src attribute of an image such than an onerror attribute can be added to the img tag. This onerror attribute can run explicit javascript immediately.

Default behavior for most chat widgets is if you have an image it will not attempt to modify image links into actual HTML image tags. Your overlay/overlay service must explicitly be doing this for you.
