Every hometown's got the ominous megastructure. what's yours? (mine's called the "pits of murder" btw.)

An ancient underground tunnel made with blocks of sandstone that has little niches with wooden boxes and cannonballs to the sides. It seems to lead upwards taking a turn to the right, thus obscuring the end.

Zoeys turquoise-purple Honda CRX is seen from the rear and left. The door is open and Zoey is standing in it, her arm leaning on the door. She wears tight black jeans and a black sweater with purple accents and the words "Unleashed Fury", as well as a pair of violet chucks. She looks proudly into the camera.

its a printed photo of a kid (me) and someone with a painted mousache and a chef's costume posing with me and a cardboard-pizza. I smile into the camera. Also if someone would not know I'm trans, they would not be confused. The photo also consist of a frame showing the italian tricolore and a weird statue of a fat chef mirrored on each side.

OMG gay german train fans got the best web design. They did not try and improve on perfection in 30 years and I respect that. www.pinkrail.de

It's the website liked in the post. It shows a map of germany, austria, and switzerland. There are pointers on the places with gay train enthusiast clubs. The clubs and their logos are seen next to the map on what looks like train destination plates. The overall design with the blue map and the light grey background as well as the 800x600 resolution make it look very 90s.

Same Zoey, same car, this the right side and back is visible, Zoey leans against the side of the car, behind the doors, one foot resting agains the rear wheel. She has her arms crossed and looks into the camera with a cool expression on her face. (this must have been pretty hard honestly, given that I was rolling around on the ground and must have looked kinda silly.) The setting is an old garage for trucks. The windows in the back are smashed, as well as the sign reminding you not to let the engine running or light fires, which is (or, mostly, was) mounted to the rear wall.

Zoeys car next to a bunch of decaying truck garages, front and the right side are visible. The photo was taken from ground level so the car looks cool as hell but there's also a bunch of small plants growing between the stones on the ground. Some of them are out of focus in the foreground.

Today I channeled my inner Victoria Scott and had a photoshoot with my friend @strayzoey.bsky.social and her awesome, self-assembled, thoroughly customized Honda CRX. I'm too lazy for photoshop, here are some of the photos some straight from the card:

Same place, same stuff. Closeup on zoeys legs and shoes on the side of the door, prominently featuring a replica of the original "DOHC PROGRAMMED FUEL INJECTION"-decal. There's also graffiti-tags on the asphalt.

In honoring a german tradition, I brought a (vegan) Mettigel to a buffet yesterday. I made it from rice wafers and tomato paste (plus onions, oil, salt and pepper ofc.).

A buffet table. Closeup on a lump of what looks like (but in my case isn't) raw meat with onions. Its top side is pierced by pretzel sticks, meant to imitate a hedgehog's spikes. two green grapes as eyes and a half pretzel stick as snout on the front give it the appearance of a very cursed ceature.

There are also trees and bushes beween the street and the canal. The photo was taken in the evening, and some of the windows are illuminated as well as the restaurant.

This house is almost 600 years old. Older than the printing press, protestantism or Columbus. It's been through some shit, but it's still there. I kinda find that aspirational.

The facade of a run-down half timbered building. The plaster has come off in many spots, revealing bricks from the 18th and 19th century. There is a gaslight-style streetlamp as well als a small air duct, some loose cables and a blue tarp covering a window on the second floor. There are three windows on the first floor, covered by some kind of semi-transparent plastic someone has scribbled tags on.

My new hometown. They used to gift you a bottle of booze for moving here, but they ran out of that, too. On the other hand, rent here is only half my salary.

Clitvicular standing in front of a dilapidated half-timbered building. The sky is clouded and it appears to be windy. Clitvicular leans against the building, legs crossed, looking at the viewer with a grumpy expression on her face. While the facade of the building covered in shingles is from the 19th century, the overarching floors and low floor heights indicate that this house was probably built earlier. the ground floor still has its original half-timbered structure - a rarity in a city - indicating its former uses did not require big shop windows. The ground floor has had its shingles removed so big boards of plywood could be nailed to the wall, as to keep its structural integrity. Plywood can also be seen behind broken windows on the same level. There are several graffiti on the plywood as well as on the door, which is a steel door normally used temporarily during construction work. The graffiti consist of tags, unreadable scribbles and some left-wing messaging: "ACAB", "Liebe"(Love). The windows both in the ground floor and above are typical 19th century three-piece-windows with a single glass pane (as opposed to e.g. the "berlin-style" of two plass panes behind one antoher, which would become the defacto standard during imperial germany), indicating this building has not been renovated in over 100 years. In short, the scene looks a bit depressing.

A heavy bound copy of Karl Marx's "Das Kapital" from 1920 in good condition except for some water damage lies next to a yellow paper bag labeled "popcorn".

I said this elsewhere, but this photo especially reminds me of the 1893 Worlds fair in Chicago. (including the the Ferris Wheel). "Look how great America is, guys, we can do so much better 130 years in..."

Sorting my bookshelf and rediscovered this 1899 novel on the Munich lesbian scene. It features a wide assortment of different kinds of lesbian expression and their issues in imperial germany. Might scan it and put it on the internet archive some day, idk.

While the archives of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft have been destroyed and Magnus Hirschfeld's private archive is lost, there's still surviving copies of the published works. I got some on ebay, actually. They survived book burnings and ban lists for years. The science of our time will, too.
