Eight one part stories, no duds, loved the talk show concept, the theatre one, the twist on the murder mystery especially. Pushed all my buttons that and Peter Davison was magnificent in it.

Finished off Shadow of the Daleks vols 1 and 2 today and it was fucking *chef's kiss* as the kids say. Pacy, tense, scary, funny, varied. Really really great.

A lot of modern films don’t decide what they’re about. That’s why they’re so long. It’s easier to cut if you know what a thing is. I don’t think I’ve seen a more indecisive modern film, judging by the marketing, than Digger. Does it know? I mean, we definitely don’t. But I’m not sure it does.

For 20 years I've always thought copying City of Death would be the absolute best way to be if I ever found a missing episode. Keep it quiet for a few weeks, sell copies for a million quid a piece to various rich important fans, get the money cleared and spent, and then get it up on iPlayer pronto.

I suppose the trick is to suggest the source enough that it works for most people who don't need perfect, without being a copyright case. My friend counsels that for the price perhaps it's not the best or most longest lasting cardigan ever anyway. But I, a fool, may yet succumb to it anyway.

There was some discussion about it online at the time. It's a while back now. I think re-recorded elements/extra scenes, rather than late rewrites. I'd ask Rob but I'd like him not to hate me for not liking one of his things so it's best he doesn't know. Hopefully he'll never see this. Ever.

Static: terrific atmosphere, would have been a perfect Halloween story a few weeks later. Really enjoyed this one too. We Are The Daleks: some nice ideas, didn't feel like a classic but pretty solid. Some good jokes too.

Big Finish catchups... Emissary of the Daleks: a bit of a Dalek Empire feel, a good solid traditional Dalek story with the Doctor and Peri front and centre rather than on the sidelines as in Revelation. Great stuff.
