CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 6mUK government gives less than zero shits about the creative industry and the BILLIONS it brings in, for some reason. The only people who matter, apparently, are farmers and fisherman. 010

CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 2hI mean, it's pretty much none of those things, especially not in the way most people use those words 010
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 2hAnyway guys I am reading something very outside my normal and if anyone is looking for an extremely horny book about gay tennis players then In Your Court by Kit Haley should be in your basket. It's a refreshing change from my usual, though I'm clearly not cut out for this much banging 2111
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 2hI have told you how my family live in China, and when the virus broke out my mom was like "oh god don't tell anyone our surname" 🤣🤣🤣 110

CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 2hOmg my memory has always been horrendous (there's a reason it's a thematic element in a lot of my fic) but this is a new low. Something the ninth 100
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hOh that was Charlie Stross's blurb for that book whose name I can't remember now...but I can see the cover in my head 200
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hAlso the number of people who seem to be under the impression that it's a cosy YA gothic... ...yeah, if that's what you thought you were getting, it will be boring and stupid. Also the day I write a cosy novel is the day you know I've been kidnapped by aliens and am now a pod person. 050
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hOh god you have told me that before, that's hilarious. Lol, I promise it is a legit surname. 110
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hOh yeah, hopefully it's that and you will be right as rain by next week 010
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hIt is always funny to find out once again I have written a marmite book 🤣 (not ideal for those stupid ratings though *sad trombone*) My reviews for Monsters swerve from 'omg I ate this up it's so weird and unexpected' to 'the most boring stupid book in the world.' Well done, me! 2130

CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hMC is called Callum MacLeod, taking a ferry to the islands, has deeply religious family, speaks Gaelic, and the reader didn't realise it was a Scottish book for half the novel is absolutely sending me 020

CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 3hSomeone the other day said Hellisen sounds like a made up name and I did not know how to respond. I mean all names are made up at some point, but I don't think my surname is any stranger than others. Also my other surname is Corona so I can't really use that these days... 😭 3190

CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 30/09/2026For people new to ice dance, he's going to teach the Prelim Foxtrot (the easiest but worst) and the other group will learn the Hickory Hoedown. CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 30/09/2026Before lockdowns, I used to be in a skating club that met weekly and had dedicated ice dance sessions for pattern dance. Losing that sucked, but now folk are trying to ressurect a weekly ice dance social skate and I am amped! First one is Sunday and my coach will be teaching 2 groups a new dance. 1130
CL Hellisen @clhellisen.com · 30/09/2026At least when they were hiring ghostwriters, someone was actually being creative and getting paid for it. But they want the shiny product and to go around boasting that they've written a book, and the less they have to pay for it, the better. These people do not care about books or reading. 1291
