We're keeping our fingers crossed that the High Court grants permission next week for lawyers to appeal this case. July's judgment noted that if an alternative approach to the meaning of “defeat device” were taken, a larger number of defeat devices would be established. Watching with interest 👀 .

Wood burning has definitely started again in my area. We had the windows open last night and the house stank of smoke - it was dark so we don’t know who is burning. We need much better public health messaging about this issue so everyone can understand the damage they are doing when they light up!

Shock news: once a stove's in place, anything can be burnt in it. 🙄 We've been shouting about this for years, and it's one of the reasons we campaign for a phase-out of non-essential burning. New HETAS research confirms people are burning pallets, cardboard, rubbish - even nappies. #AirPollution

Do the maths folks.. Tackling #AirPollution & climate change together would boost global GDP by 2.8% by 2035. This compared with more than 2% of GDP spent on subsidies for fossil fuels in 2022, which contribute to harms when burnt, and about 9% added costs on healthcare in 2023.
