(Und es stößt alle Eltern vor den Kopf, die es gemacht haben, weil das Kind wirklich krank war - und immer ist schlechtes Gewissen und Angst vor Jobverlust dabei. Ironisch fast, dass nun wirklich jemand seinen Job dadurch verloren hat)

If you are relieved that the AfD did not win Berlin, I understand (me too). The Left came first, while the AfD received around 16% of the votes. But there’s something else that I’d like you to pay attention to. I think it’s equally important: who gets counted in Berlin’s democracy and who does not.

Der @bertpsch.bsky.social hat gut in Worte gefasst, was ich gestern auch den ganzen Abend über empfunden habe.
Textausschnitt zeit.de: 

Es dürften sehr viele Menschen gewesen sein, die gestern Abend vor dem Fernseher saßen und sich fürchteten.
Andere waren vielleicht einfach traurig. Wieder andere erschüttert oder auch nur verunsichert.
Keine dieser Emotionen aber wurde von den Politikern, die über den Fernsehbildschirm huschten, in irgendeiner Weise adressiert. Es gab kein »wir sehen euch«, kein »wir kämpfen für euch«. Nicht mal ein »mir geht's genauso«. Die versammelten Funktionsträger hatten keine Sprache für den historischen Moment, keine Begriffe. Sie unternahmen nicht mal den Versuch, einen emotionalen Kontakt zu den Menschen aufzunehmen, die sich fragen: Was bedeutet das?
Endet hier gerade die Geschichte, die wir uns selbst immer über unser Land erzählen?

There are many hot-takes re. Saxony-Anhalt elections. My take: those are the pains of a shrinking rural space. The state was bleeding inhabitants, and especially the young and and well-educated have been leaving. The AfD won not because of TikTok but because they organized community meetings
