Today’s poem is called ‘How Much I Dislike the Daily Mail’.

How Much I Dislike the Daily Mail

I would rather
eat Quavers that are six weeks stale,
blow dry the man bun of Gareth Bale,
listen to the songs of Jimmy Nail,
than read one page of the Daily Mail.

If I was bored
in a waiting room in Perivale,
on a twelve-hour trip on Network Rail,
halfway through a circumnavigational sail,
I would not read the Daily Mail.

I would happily read
the autobiography of Dan Quayle,
1001 Things You Can Do With Kale,
selected scripts from Emmerdale,
if it meant I didn’t have to read the Daily Mail.

Far better to
stand outside in a storm of hail,
scratch a blackboard with a fingernail,
be swallowed by a humpback whale,
than have to read the Daily Mail.

If I was blind
and it was the only thing in Braille,
I still would not read the Daily Mail.

I like your headcanon, but it's explained in the scene. It's Ben's (previously suppressed) memory of his father. Luke even told him in TLJ, "strike me down in anger and I'll always be with you. Just like your father." Leia reached out to her son, Rey killed Kylo and Ben was effectively revived.

I know everyone who's read it says the same thing, but Shadow of the Sith massively elevates and validates the big swings taken in TROS. It's an excellent book that stands shoulder to shoulder with the very best Star Wars novels. My (Sith) eternal thanks! 👏🏻

I was out for tea at a pub yesterday and a lady was eating an improvised toast fry up sandwich in one hand and shovelling in beans with the other. This is England. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

My feed is an endless sea of posts about Jeremy Allen White being cast as Rotta the Hutt and I am so here for it. 😂 #StarWars

Eh, I thought it was perfectly cromulent. But then, going in with the knowledge that it was a bit derivative and safe probably made me (ahem, "us") appreciate it more. The animation slaps too.

Yeah I understand the marketing rationale for it and I do enjoy the weekly analysis. I just think the story doesn't benefit from being stretched over several weeks when the episodes are so short. If we had more to chew on then it would be different. I had no issues with The Penguin, for instance.

Really enjoying it so far. Short episodes are only a problem when you have to wait a week for them. I really wish Disney+ would just drop whole seasons like Netflix.

So far, #SkeletonCrew has a fun tone, engaging production design and a lively score, and is an endearing, seemingly low stakes romp. At Attin is an interesting twist on the lost treasure trope too, with the pirates seeking the kids' homeworld. Excited to see more!

It's out at 2am on Tuesday, not Wednesday, as they brought it forward a day.

This is the version I grew up with - my mum and dad had taped it (and all of the OT) for my brother. Later in life, I was impressed with how well they'd timed the record pauses to disguise the advert breaks! 😂

As with most modern Star Wars films and shows, it's underappreciated because creative choices and a few bits of silly hokum (pictured) are regarded as canon-breaking, absurd and/or 'objectively bad'. I could do with a bit less shaky cam cinematography, but I love the story and message.

I really enjoyed #StarWarsOutlaws #WildCard. The Morenia cruise ship section was the highlight for me, but all of the component missions showcased the game's strengths. Can't wait for A Pirate's Fortune with Hondo next year! ☠️ Here's hoping Jim Cummings makes a return... 🤞🏻

So, are we getting the first #StarWarsOutlaws story pack today as well as the big 1.4.0 update? There doesn't seem to be much noise about it.

A sad C-3PO story in three quotes: AOTC: "I'm not worried, R2. It's just I've never flown before." 😟 ROTS: "I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this flying business." 😄 [Has mind wiped] ANH: "Oh, my. I’d forgotten how much I hate space travel." 😟 Womp Womp. 🎺 #StarWars #Threepio #C-3PO

I have to say, #StarWarsOutlaws really is great. It has tons of neat gameplay systems and Kay Vess is such an engaging and charismatic lead. The world is so detailed and true to the source material with countless deep cut references. Can't wait for the DLC! ✨

Dave Watson piece on #ITV dreadfully sad. It's not just about compensation for this individual case though, it's about protecting future generations if they're more likely to suffer dementia as a result of heading a football. More should be done. #ENGROI #ENG
