Look. It's really important that we attract blockbusters to the UK to employ our skilled crews and related industries (drivers, catering etc). The UK industry won't grow without that. It's also really important we funnel investment to home-grown projects written, directed and starred in by Brits.

One of my favourite day jobs in Vancouver was as an admin assistant for BC Liquor. I had to take minutes at consultations with First Nations councils to discuss whether to open liquor stores in remote communities in BC. Was always impressed by how respectfully they balanced a lot of complex issues

The UK produces way too many crime dramas; I know because I've worked on several this past year. If it's not a comedy, there's like a 90% chance it'll be a crime drama. It's almost as if other genres, other stories or current social issues than "crime" don't exist to producers.

This is also relevant to the crisis in tv commissioning — with streaming it’s too easy to inhale a series in one go and no matter how great it was, you kind of forget cause then it’s done. We have a completely different relationship with TV when we consume one episode at a time. #scriptsky+

I love this. Have just started rebuilding my vinyl collection, and I really enjoy that I can put on an album, listen consciously to it, then go do something else. Could be the exact same album, yet somehow steaming renders it background noise that will also consume a day.
