Journeyman directors are far and away the most unfairly hated types of filmmakers out there. To me talent will always matter more than style. Journeyman filmmakers are an essential part of the cinematic ecosystem. Not everyone can be Scorsese, Spielberg, or Tarantino, someone has to be Ron Howard.

"Resident Evil" 2026 is the best live-action movie BASED on a videogame we've had thus far. While it's basic in plotting compared to prior Cregger films, it still has the same level of craftmanship in direction & writing. Instead of naval gazing on RE mythos, the film shows WHY those games resonate.
