I don't have a room of my own otherwise this would be a breeze to solve (and wouldn't have happened in the first place). My "room" is a common area.

I'm gonna get one as a safety measure since hurricane season is rolling in here. But what I need to do is find a socket that isn't used so I can plug into it directly with my rig all on its own. Which is rough in this house at the moment, gotta work it out with the family.

Basically when more people are up and using this part of the house, power draw through here starts getting wonky.

I just realized what my problem with my computer lately might actually be. It's the power. In the house I mean. The current place I'm hooked up is uh, crowded let's say. When I'm the only person up in this part of the house, my PC is fine.
