He’s absolutely considering ground troops, and actively laying the ground work to make it possible if he ultimately green lights it. His advisors are urging him to ‘finish the job’ after the midterms. They’re trying not to lose any more votes than they’re already going to.

Agreed, but we also have to be conscious of what they can (and more importantly, can’t) do. They could impeach them every day of the week, but getting enough votes in the Senate to convict and remove will be extremely difficult. No blaming Dems if the impeachment succeeds but conviction fails.

I’ve seen no evidence that’s true. If he did, we likely would have nuked Iran. There’s a lot of misunderstanding of how the ‘codes’ work in reporting surrounding this - POTUS’ voice and the card he keeps in his pocket is all he needs to authenticate a strike. And he has near unilateral authority

I think the odds are probably relatively low, but I also wouldn’t put it past him. I don’t trust him as far as I could throw him, and well, he’s YUGE. On the bright side, these people could fuck up a wet dream, so I think it’s likely they’ll spectacularly screw up whatever nonsense they try.

He might try it, but it wouldn’t work. One, his whole insurrection act bullshit has been so blatantly choreographed that it’ll be knocked down in court immediately. A national emergency also isn’t a reason to cancel elections. It’s never been done, and people would almost certainly riot.
