Back to seasonal hunting or gathering grounds. Do you understand the concept of nomadic life?

Early humans (including our cousin species) were at least semi-nomadic, so yes, they needed a good sense of direction.

So this is just very weird bullshit. We haven't even come close to identifying genes in this way. Further, while we've identified ~20% of the Neanderthal DNA from modern humans, it's no more than 2% of any individuals DNA. This high variation indicates against this being a strong identifier.

A Tennessee appellate court has ruled that the killing of a woman may have been justifiable because she was trans. The court reversed a conviction, stating that the killer could have a new trial because the jury did not know the woman killed was trans. Trans panic in the modern era.

Killing of Woman May Have Been Justifiable Because She Was Trans, Tennessee Court Rules
The case is a bitter reminder of the ways LGBTQ people have had their identities weaponized by the courts in the past, most notoriously through a legal defense tactic known as gay or trans “panic.”

It's besides the point but 29 states allow minors to have alcohol in private settings in the presence of their parents. So yes, we often do allow parents choose to let their kids have alcohol.

The modern conception the right wing has perpetuated about ancient Greece and Rome has led to them adopting the perceived esthetics of the Greco-Roman world. It's actually quite accidentally poetic, since the white marble remains don't at all reflect the vibrant, colorful, diverse era.

This Wednesday, Elon Musk called for the death sentence for transgender youth care providers. It was in reply to a post calling for full criminalization of all gender-affirming surgery. Musk is becoming even more radicalized in targeting trans people. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Michael Tracey published what he said was the ID of the "Jane Doe" in the Cornell case. Then he took it down, claiming he just wanted to make a point and didn't want to see harm to the person he named. What he hasn't admitted is that he mistook info on a sketchy site for official NY court records.
An archived copy of Michael Tracey's original Substack post includes a screenshot from "eCourt Records" and the commentary: "It's [name redacted]. Don't blame me -- the New York Court System just posted it. Seemingly inadvertently. Oh well."Screenshot of Michael Tracey's post on Substack titled "Note on Jane Doe." It reads: "After identifying Jane Doe earlier tonight, I have now removed the information I published. Why? Because the principle has been served: to underscore that permanently anonymizing litigants who make sensational, spectacular, reputation-destroying claims about others — so long as they can self-declare some form of victimization — cannot be countenanced.

It’s destructive, and an egregious abuse of the legal system by huckster plaintiff’s lawyers. This practice has to end. Lawyers who seek to monetize this sleazy tactic should have to think A LOT HARDER about the claims they’re willing to throw out into the public domain, using impressionable clients who may not even know what they’re getting themselves into.

So why have I now removed her information?

Because I don’t believe she’s the main “villain” here. I primarily blame the bottom-feeding, media-manipulating, sleazebag lawyers who’ve made a whole cash-grab industry out of this racket.

Thomas Giuffra in particular has a lot to answer for. He’s the central reason for the current debacle.

Given the intense nationwide and global interest in this case, I don’t want to bring any further negative attention to this woman. I don’t believe she ought to be punished or subjected to any retribution or humiliation. I believe a RATIONAL solution is necessary here. Not more character assassination — of her, the seven young men, or anyone else. Truly, that is my genuine view."

Michael Tracey is actively attempting to dox Jane Doe in the Cornell 7 rape case
Michael Tracey : If you happen to know who this Cornell "Jane Doe" is, get in touch and I would be happy to publish her name and identifying information. And yes -- this is 100% permitted under the First Amendment, whatever threats or emotional blackmail people might want to deploy"Report" me for what, exactly? Save your breath, scumbag. Sorry you hate the First Amendment so much. Her identity is obviously newsworthy at this point, and I will take extreme pleasure in reporting it. (Not "doxing" -- that's a total canard)

Or you don't get either from your dad. Or you get extra. Or you get a Y chromosome with a faulty or missing SRY gene. Or you get an X chromosome *with* an SRY gene. And none of that has anything to do with being trans.

Chrysia @chrysia.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
X null, XY without an SRY gene, XX *with* an SRY gene. There's so many more differences in sexual development. And we're not talking about sex, anyway. All evidence is that gender identity is just as biological as sexuality.

For Batman Day, I present the best Batman scene ever:
Ace: "They were training me, turning me into a weapon 'for justice'. They got their weapon, I got cheated of my childhood"
Batman: "I know what that's like"
Ace: "You do, don't you?"
Ace: "You don't have to answer, I read your mind. That's how I knew you weren't going to use Ms Waller's weapon on me"
Batman: "No, I wasn't"
Ace: "You were gonna try and talk me into fixing what I've changed..."
Ace: "before I die"
Batman: "Yes"
Ace: "I'm dying very soon"
Batman: "Yes, I'm sorry"
Ace: Would you stay with me? I'm scared"
Batman sits with her and holds her hand

this whole thing is madness inducing but the middle paragraph here is the one that made me say "oh we're FUUUUUCKED fucked" out loud
Hill was willing to speak bluntly and on the record. But not every scientist I contacted felt able to do that. I called one Florida scientist who studies sea level rise to fact-check some of the agents' comments, but before we got very far, they asked not to be named. They explained that their current research depends on cooperation from county and municipal governments, which means they have to "tread very carefully" when speaking about real estate development in the
area.
That made sense to Hill. "If we get in the way of developers, their attorneys can go after us through our universities," she said. "It's not uncommonẠỊi
For the most part, she said, silence about climate risk in housing is incentivized. Because if climate risk tanks a property's value, she said,
"everyone's going to be pressuring everyone else not to talk about it."
