on this date eight years ago, Tom Holland wowed Zendaya on Lip Sync Battle with his cultural critique of impervious surface stormwater runoff.

I am mildly obsessed with how Covid shows up in pop culture. This single panel from a larger comic by @xkcd.com is so evocative!
Five stick figures with various hats and hairstyles stand and walk around. All are wearing varieties of face mask (surgical, KN94 and N95.) Most are looking at their phone screens — one is conversing with another who is telling him something from her phone. Square “thought bubbles” above the phone users indicate what’s on their phone screens: all have variations of charts with data rising exponentially.

Even your older nature photos can help scientists today! As long as you know when and where you took the photos, you can post your nature sightings on iNaturalist anytime — and they'll still contribute to science and conservation. Got anything in your camera roll to share? 👀
A close-up photo of bright green moss. White text reads "Your old nature photos can help scientists today."A photo of a small garden snail perched at the center of a yellow flower. White text reads "As long as you know the dates and locations where you took them, you can post your older photos of wild nature to iNaturalist! Older records of nature can (and do) contribute to ongoing science and conservation efforts — just like new ones do. What's in your camera roll?"

Here's a different take on the koi drawing. I have trouble controlling my lines sometimes because my hand shakes. It used to bother me a lot & I'd spend time trying to correct them, but nowadays, I'm like, to hell with it. It proves a flawed human drew this imperfect thing with human intent 🙂 #art
Digital drawing in white ink against a very dark purple background of a koi fish crowded together and placed so that they fill up the entire image. The fish are drawn with diagonal patterns for head, fins, and tail with feather patterns to indicate scales. The overall effect emphasizes pattern and shape over realism.

make art! if it's the end of the world, you might as well make art! if it's not the end of the world, then the future will be better because people made art right now!

Ha! Just had another pest control sales person come to the door, pause before knocking when he saw my sign by the door and then laugh and throw his hand up while walking away.
A sign by my front door that says "dear pest control companies, we like the bugs" and it features flick, a pink chameleon, from animal crossing, along with several bugs from the gameA doorbell camera still of a guy leaving with his hand thrown up

propaganda we're not falling for: - there's no nature in cities/urban areas - we already know everything about plants & animals - nature photography requires expensive camera equipment - you need a degree to contribute to science - you need to travel far to see interesting species
