Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 03/10/2026AI/Amazon has stubbornly identified one of my books as “Faith” when it’s a very secular memoir of a working life. I made the mistake of calling it ‘Book of Jobs’ - but AI has no truck with wordplay.. Tried to sort, but KDP simply passes me to Amazon, who pass me back. So Faith it is.. 000

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Today is my 51st birthday. And I *still* have teenaged spots. People used to say (back when people had views on me), “don’t worry, your oily skin will age well”. But as well as having teenaged spots, I also look old and worn. #happybirthdaytome 010
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I gave lots of old classical and jazz away when moving for nth time a few years ago, thinking “well, I have Spotify”. Now sorely regret. Also gave away nice record player and amp. Also regret. Plenty of regrets. 020

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Gutted about BBC4 apparently being for the chop. Where else, without being bombarded with ads, can I watch fearless journalism like Arena, and also The Good Life? 000
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I lived on Huskisson street twenty years ago. Was great. 010
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Congrats! That’s great! I look forward to reading it. 110
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I’m ok too thanks. Have been largely off social media for a few years. I’m a quiet writer now- plodding along, self published- which is freeing actually. How’s your writing life? 110
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 24/09/2026@gordonhaber.bsky.social Hi Gordon. Long time no speak! How are you? 111
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 19/09/2026True and good. But they won’t hesitate to make a pile of money from the next *clean* celeb ‘writer’ feeding our kids badly written bollocks. 030

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Poor old Ed Sheeran not having good time. Were I he I’d simply retreat to Suffolk. Nice walk each day. Pop out for lunch. Bit of shopping. Etc 000

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Boring, but no caffeine, no booze, and good sleep works for me. Overdo those first two, underdo the latter, and I’m a hot anxious mess. 010

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 13/09/2026It might have been akin to Magical Mystery Tour (and *objectively* as poor) because by 1966 perhaps, direction wise, they were ungovernable? 100
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 12/09/2026They both feature photographs I took in 2008 when I was an empty council flat inspector in London- an experience I write about in Book of Jobs. 000
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Do you like my book covers? Designed them myself. What’s driving me toward the end of my current WIP, if I’m honest, is the prospect of designing another. As good a motivation as any, I suppose… 120

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 12/09/2026A nice Saturday. A wander around bustling Canterbury this morning. Bit of writing and music this arvo. Periodically checking KDP, seeing KENP tick nicely up, knowing there are strangers out there investing their time in my work. Thanks to them! 000

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Quite possibly yes. Actually it looks like they focused on the visiting girl cover wise from the start on The Bell… so what do I know.. Perhaps I was more surprised that a woman would be writing seriously about a man. We’re old hat these days.. 010
Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I liked it too. She writes men very well. It’s interesting that this cover does depict a male figure. Many recent editions of this and The Bell depict a young female on the cover, when they’re both essentially about men. I guess this is to lure young women in to make a purchase. 110

Chris Walsh @chriswalsh1.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Anyone read The Ten Human Types by Dexter Dias? Is bloody good. Really like the impressionistic weaving of the science, reflection, and supporting tales- quite genre-busting. Worth buying- and if not keen can simply use as doorstop. 100
