Dolly Parton on trans rights. God I loved her.

When looking at the issue of anti-trans legislation, Parton said that “I try to get into the human element of it.” Pointing out that she has people in her life who identify as queer and trans, the 77-year-old star said it was important to hear what they’re saying.

“I know and love them all, and I do not judge. And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are,” she said. “I know how important this is to them. That’s who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there’s something to be judged, that is God’s business. But we are all God’s children and how we are is who we are.”

The three songs available on the upcoming Eartheater’s “Heavenly Body: If I Am The Bottle You’re The Message” album are just gorgeous. Hauntingly beautiful melodies & lyrics. I’m not familiar with this artist but planning to learn more; really looking forward to the rest of this album coming out.

I only have one iris plant giving Autumn blooms and it’s this much-needed cheerful yellow. My iPhone can’t quite capture the delicate quality of the flower; irl, it’s much more transparent and luminous like tissue paper.

Happy Earth Day! The irises have been putting on quite a show all month; it’s been an epic bloom with so many flowers.

A vibrant violet bearded iris with white patches on the lower falling petals.

A stalk of four bearded iris flower buds topped with an open bloom of velvety dark purple.

A delicate creamy-peach bearded iris with orange furry beards. A bit of the interior of the bloom is showing with soft orange and apricot hues.
