Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 19hAnd if there's one thing I can't abide it's lazy, hand-wavy, don't-bother-me-with-details politicians. The last one of these was Boris Johnson. Couldn't stand him either. 130
Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 19hI think her defining feature is that she's fundamentally lazy. If you were going to put me on national media advancing a proposition, I'd spend a minimum two days mugging up on it. She can't be arsed. 240

Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 05/10/2026It's lazy. It's tedious. It's aggravating. The result? Irritated readers. And that changes everything. At heart, this serves as a powerful reminder to edit your copy. 210

Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I'm pondering which social issue creates more fury and division: 1. Shoes-on vs shoes-off in the house 2. Seat reclining on planes 210

Reposted by Chris JonesSean Jones KC @seanjones.org · 03/10/2026I am not very worried about about the Tory Tapestry’s misuse of “doth”. What worries me much more is this sequence of panels which seems to show a small boat full of brown-skinned people followed by a plague of rats running riot and then a lot of dead white people labelled tax payers. 37525176

Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Speculating wildly here, but could you have a system where either pilots or crew could trigger transmission of live cockpit+fuselage video to a ground centre, who could remotely unlock the door if they observed a critical emergency situation? 350

Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I wonder if Brits have internalised how much the UK’s 'pull' has lessened vs 10–15 yrs ago. There’s much less upside for eg Poles or Czechs in moving here, especially after housing costs. The UK is still relatively prosperous, but no longer so far ahead of much of central and eastern Europe. 100

Chris Jones @chrisjones1.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Indeed. Though the triple lock was originally intended to build pensions back up as a percentage of average earnings, which had fallen sharply between 1979 and 2000 as earnings soared. Arguably that correction has run its course. 021
