Maybe he’d have been quicker if you’d have found a way to demonstrate that nuking Southern California would increase gas prices

It’s like how everyone here thinks In n Out is amazing. 😬

I mean I ate there a bunch of times and it was fine. I was just surprised to find out how attached San Diego is to it!

I thought obsession was pretty good. Definitely could have been tightened up. Backrooms felt exactly like a movie based on a meme. Cool idea but terrible execution.

Regional food nostalgia is so interesting to me because people love that place and I don’t really get it. I wonder if it will even be the same though since it was just some LLC that bought the rights. Also hoping they go with the non racist tomato version of the name.

100

If you thought that was bad then stay far away from Backrooms

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Oh. So the least surprising thing on earth.

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Is there a TLDR on what’s happening with Rage right now for those of us who haven’t been online in a few days?

A couple of years ago when it was over a hundred in Lakeside I could just go spend the morning at the zoo for some 20 degree cooler temperatures. It’s nuts that it’s over a hundred in San Diego too.

Unless you saw them the day after GWB got reelected. The energy was not great at that show!

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

The Lily Seabird sounds like something I should love, but for whatever reason, just like her last album, I only think it’s fine. Not bad but doesn’t really grab me.

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

It seems like it would be tough to not immediately know the lyrics of this particular song but maybe a language barrier could change that.

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Seems like she might be a real piece of shit!

How could they possibly turn power off for these communities in this weekend's heat

It’s even more irritating considering that California residents fill the energy grid with excess solar production that SDG&E barely even pays them for.

That one is definitely on my list. I’m also intrigued by the one track I’ve heard from Stef Chura. Her album is produced by Robert Schneider, features Peter Buck and Mike Mills on one track and a host of Elephant 6 people on the rest of the record.

Honestly I’d be good. Mostly because I don’t think it’s gonna happen. We don’t have the pitching for a 7 game series or really even a 5 game series.

It’s a shame they tarnished their legacy so badly with all of these awful reunion albums that are somehow way worse than every real Pixies album and also worse than almost all of the Frank Black solo albums.

Their album last year was also really really great.

Chris Houston @chrishouston.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

What’s cool is that every so many years they put out a new singles comp and if you put em all together it’s like a really great box set.

Huh, it looks like the Good Flying Birds record is still in my collection but I can’t tell if it can be downloaded from my phone. I thought if you’d already paid for it that it would remain there for you even if it isn’t available for anyone new.
