Ballot is dropped off, the still-bottle-fed kitten I'm day sitting is asleep, and I have showered. Now for some editing time! (Chunk Norris is a real cutie)

What are these? How do I know when they are ripe? What do I do with this green mystery fruit?

I usually practice life drawing while watching TV, for cost and COVID safety reasons. This is a drawing of my MIL during a family Zoom chat. TV doesn't give me much practice drawing older women, especially in complicated lighting, so I'm pleased that this comes as close as it does!

Drawing in pencil of an older woman in glasses, mouth opened in speech.

Ok, time to start working on my 2026 art goals!

Very full pencil rack with eyeglasses, a red fountain pen, earbuds, and a paint brush rack around it.

I've finally recovered and caught up from our trip to the county fair. Some awesome child built a Dalek sculpture from cardboard and household crafty objects. Good day with friends.

Wheelchair user in N95 mask parks next to cardboard Dalek statue. The wheelchair user is wearing a gaming T-shirt and jeans, a shawl and a straw cloche hat. The wall behind them is covered in small artwork displays, some with prize ribbons.

Our van-engine rescue kitten is already spending some of its time outside the hidey-cardboard box! Vet next month. If our 2 youngish cats make friends, we might have a fourth indoor cat. If not, she'll be an outdoor deck kitty or perhaps I can find some SF Bay person who can give it a home.

Small kitten loafs in a padded cat bed, leaning against its wall. The kitten is tuxedo-patterned and its body is so small it can be held securely in one hand.

The Cat Distribution System has struck again! We trapped this little fluff ball today, after she gave us a merry chase around our van engine, where she found a "safe" kitten sized maze. Reminder: it's kitten season. Pop the hood and check first.

My art website is live! I'm very excited, because @mattselznick.bsky.social did such a great job making it pretty and usable. Many thanks, Matthew! www.christine-fisher.com Come see what I've been working on or get a monthly sum-up of how things are going and what is interesting me lately.
