Me, reading Heroes: Wow, this person is doing amazingly well in life. I'm sure nothing is going to tragically end that. Me, continuing to read Heroes: Oh... Oh, no...

www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articl... It would be entirely correct to state that I don't need to add a Vanguard Veteran and new Intercessor squad to my Deathwatch backlog. But it would be equally correct to say I really, really want them.

Perspective is key. Going to stop complaining when my knees are squished up to the seat in front on my miraculous voyage through the sky.

So as I understand the latest iteration of the Space Marine Legends rules, I can use this saw for DIY projects, but couldn't take it to a building site?

And for a taste of the aforementioned top bants,I present probably my favourite line in the whole book as delivered by Orikan - 'You're sixty-five million years old, Trazyn - isn't it time you grew up?'

My spoiler free review of The Wicked and the Warped: If you liked The Infinite and the Divine then you'll also like this. Great interactions (including some top bants), an intriguing plot and fantastic final act. 5⭐ Will need to get the audiobook to hear Richard Reed bring the characters to life.

5⭐ A thoroughly enjoyable Pratchett-esque adventure. I don't want to say too much as I don't want to spoil anything, but it's a fun ragtag adventure group story with plenty of action, tension, laughs and even some reflective moments thrown in. Well worth a read.

I'm most of the way through this. Assuming the final 20% of the book is as good as the first 80% of it (and I've no reason to assume it won't be) then it's a definite recommend from me.

Happy "The Infinite and the Divine Sequel Day" to all who observe.

As soon as I started reading the extract from novel my otherwise normal reading-in-my-head voice immediately switched to Richard Reed's voice. Like, it wasn't even a conscious decision. Those words just unlocked something in my brain and it had to be his dulcet tones reading them to me.

The feeling of successfully glazing a hyperphase blade is inversely proportional to the feeling of having to do it for three more minis afterwards. It's a great process, but not one done quickly or easily.

Whilst visiting the South Jordan, UT Warhammer store last month the lovely staff member gave me an Infernus Marine "as a souvenir". I have painted it in what I feel is an appropriate scheme to really solidify it as a token of my visit.

An Infernus Marine from a heroic angle in a colour scheme based on the flag of Utah.

Thr thing about doing a Hyperphase Blade is that you always have to do it twice. Each side feels like a new start!

I like visiting London. Seeing this great melting pot of people from all walks of life in close proximity, going through this metaphorical journey of life side-by-side, is great. As soon as anyone from any walk of life decides to stand on the left side of the escalator though...

Rank and file of my Necron force done. Having gotten so used to painting Deathwatch for so long, this is a major shift in quantity of models painted per hobby session. I could never fathom batch painting 10 at a time with Deathwatch.

It's just dawned in me that the gap between Rogue Trader coming out and Horus Rising being published (19 years) is shorter than it being published and today (20 years). If you'll excuse me I'll be looking into retirement homes...

Rereading this for the first time since finishing the Siege of Terra series, and boy does it hit different now. The tragedy and foreshadowing are so much more impactful.

Thanks. I'm thinking of spraying them Mechanicus Standard Grey, basing them Mechanicus Standard Grey, giving them a wash of Mechanicus Standard Grey and then a drybrush of Mechanicus Standard Grey to really enhance that kind of look.

After last nights painting stream, which was surprisingly productive on my part, we have set up the center of the flame wall, which is the center and source of all the warm OSL on this piece. I'm starting to actually feel good about this :) #abaddonthedespoiler #warhammerart #minipainting #wh40k

Image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project.

Newly painted is an even wider ranging spread of red bottom ligthing on the upper half, and the implied wall of flames around the knee-height of abaddon, painted in by the highest-value yellows at those heights.

Three-part image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project.

At the top is one 2:1 ratio wide photo centering on the knee-height level of abaddons body, where the center of the implied flames is placed, which causes the warm osl on the rest of the piece.

The bottom half of this collage image is vertically split in the middle and shows different angles of the kneepad, which is the detail that is most refined in the area shown above.

Side-by-side comparison of the close-up image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project. On the left is my miniature interpretation of the art on the right, the original and iconic warhammer artwork "eye of terror" by Karl Kopinski.

Quite chuffed with how this test paint for the scenery worked out. Not chuffed at all with how long it took (~3 hours) considering the number of walls left to paint 😅

This very British graph shows the inverse temperature of custard. If the food is hot (e.g. Apple pie) the custard must be cold. If cold (e.g. Ice cream) the custard must be hot. Custard donuts are room temperature and therefore in equilibrium. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Took half an hour queuing in bitterly cold wind, but more than worth it to secure my new copy of The Infinite and the Divine. Just needs signing by @robertrath.bsky.social next time he's in this neck of the woods. Also, I will definitely be reading this with Richard Reed's voice from the audiobook.

Absolutely has to be Heldenhammer. The Legend of Sigmar Trilogy by @grahammcneill.bsky.social are some of the best books I've ever read. Not just best Warhammer books, mind you, but best of any genre. Go and vote for it so you can buy a copy in due course! warhammer.typeform.com/to/PUv4crPR

I picked up Sergeant Jovan at the Warhammer World Anniversary yesterday, and immediately seconded him to the Deathwatch. As far as kitbashes go it was extremely minimal (literally just the one shoulder pad) but he just looks so Deathwatch-y already I didn't need to do anything else.
