After huffing infield dust for 4 years as a softball dad, I'm all for anything to automate this process. Hopefully they have a raking robot too.

Yep! They're so dialed in with the high end pitching machines, but I guess they're not throwing these during BP. Hilarious to watch.

Prepping this little guy for recycle. Loved the 11-inch #MacBook Airs, but with only 4GB of RAM, its time of usefulness has come to an end.

A silver MacBook Air sits on a desk, actively installing macOS Catalina. The screen shows a white installation window with the Catalina island icon and a progress bar indicating "About 24 minutes remaining."
The laptop is connected to a MagSafe power adapter on the left and a yellow USB drive on the right. In the blurred foreground to the left, a 2.5-inch internal hard drive lies on the desk with a yellow sticky note attached to it. The background shows a cluttered workspace with various tools and office supplies, all rendered with a shallow depth of field.

Red tailed hawk or Red Shouldered Hawk. Approximately a year old bc this one is from this time last year’s three babies. Or maybe this is one of the parents? Anywho, Golden Gate Park, SF, Tuesday Feb. 24, 2026. #bird #hawk #goldengatepark #hawks #birds

Given up on Meshcore for now. Where to put this solar #meshtastic node. Solid build from #PeakMesh on Etsy.

A close-up, angled shot of a 3D-printed electronic device mounted against a plain wall. The enclosure is a textured, tan-colored plastic with a small rectangular solar panel integrated into its sloped front face. A long, black, adjustable radio antenna protrudes from the right side. At the top of the unit is a small integrated mounting loop, and the word "peakmesh" is embossed along the bottom edge

A detailed view of the inside of the 3D-printed enclosure, showing the hardware components. On the left, a RAK4630 wireless module is mounted to a baseboard, connected by thin wires to a small green custom circuit board labeled "https://www.google.com/search?q=peakmesh-etsy.com." To the right, a purple 18650 rechargeable battery is held securely in a black plastic clip. The internal wiring consists of red and black power leads, all housed within the thick-walled, gray-textured plastic casing.

I went down that road too for a minute, but tbh, it doesn’t seem great as a real mesh. If you’re in an area with a lot of repeaters, or you’re setting up your own private mesh for an event, I think it might be a good option.

Curious about this setup and the shape of that beam. Do you skip over nodes that are really close and hit the ones that are far away?

000

Chris Rosa @chris.wander.org · 06/02/2026

Get a solar version you can mount up as high as possible set up as a CLIENT_BASE. Hopefully that can hit someone nearby and repeat your messages (won’t count as a hoop either). Range is generally really good, but topography can be a challenge. Good luck!

Illustration of a waving American flag on a pole against a light beige background. Below the flag, blue text reads: “I didn’t grow up reciting ‘with liberty and justice for all’ every morning at 7 am just to be called radical for actually wanting liberty and justice for ALL.”

Will have to try this out. I feel like going from a uniform column width to something that could be very random, very fast, might end up being annoying. Seems like you'd want to set a max length at least?

This sort of opulence in the valley is depressing. The stagnation here in #Marin is palpable.

A Google Maps navigation screen on iPhone showing directions between three 99 Ranch Market locations near Dublin and Pleasanton, California. The selected route is highlighted in blue along I-580 eastbound, with alternative gray routes. The route begins at 99 Ranch Market on Regional Street in Dublin and ends at 99 Ranch Market on Stoneridge Drive in Pleasanton. Travel time is shown as 19 minutes for 7.5 miles, with an estimated arrival of 11:56 AM. Labels along the route include Dublin, Round Table Pizza, Emerald Glen Park, and Westport Village. A small thumbnail of the 99 Ranch Market storefront appears in the lower left corner.
