This is a country of delusional people who believe they may one day be rich. The California Wealth Tax has less than 50% support right now. We have to tell the truth about the propagandized voting public. It's incredible.

The worst part of Bonta caving on the Paramount merger is that it's a big flashing signal to every other company that there is no antitrust enforcement in America and you can bully your way into getting whatever you want. It's a monumentally bad decision.

One thing I wonder: Are politicians bamboozled by AI doomsaying because they haven’t read enough sci-fi (so they don’t recognize that many of these “apocalyptic“ predictions are just recycled Harlan Ellison/Philip K Dick plots) or because they read too much (and are filling in the blanks)?

Christian Holub @cholub.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Really appreciate this argument from David Dayen, Matt Stoller, and Lina Khan: There are already plenty of legal tools to prevent companies from releasing dangerous and defective products. Politicians should try using those instead of just letting the AI industry make up its own laws

It’s actually crazy that the Oscars don’t do this anymore. One of the best moments in Oscars history is Denzel winning his and holding it up to Sidney Poitier in the crowd, who had just won a lifetime achievement one — impossible scenario now

Way more than labels like “leftist” or “centrist,” or even age, the real divide in the Democratic Party is between a select few politicians who think we should do ANYTHING at all, and the majority who want to continue doing absolutely nothing

Great timing to see this clip from the GOAT concert film on our way to see the new Oasis one! “Slippery People” is my fav Stop Making Sense track, Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt’s backing vocals make the live version so much better than the original that this is a must-include on all my party playlists

Christian Holub @cholub.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

All the AI doomsday nonsense is clearly just marketing, relying on people to fill in the blanks with decades of apocalyptic sci-fi pop culture

Of the many good things about El-Sayed’s primary win in Michigan, I love that it’s reintroducing Medicare For All into American political discourse.
