#HeadsUp: As pointed out by @galatfemme.bsky.social, three of Patricia C. Wrede's Enchanted Forest books are at a good price: Dealing With Dragons (book "1"), Searching For Dragons (book "2"), and Talking to Dragons (book "4"), at $2, $3, and $3 respectively. I got some of each for random giveaway.

What with all the everything, I do feel guilty about not doing Fandom Trumps Hate this year. But I way overextended myself on it last year and I really want to focus on my original writing ...

Nothing wrong with blocking early and often, but if you don't want to see anything related to a specific fandom you could just ... not follow me? And then you won't see if I post about it?

I don't think I could pick one over the other - I like reading really good smut that gets a ton of characterization in the sex (eg KJ Charles), but it also feels really good to try to *write* characterization-ful smut. #WritingCommunity

A Bit of Whimsy
Roberta Seaport (Deepdarkwaters)

Summary:
Arts and crafts day goes extremely awry when Stede, Alma, Louis, and Lucius are somehow pulled from 2025 into the old oil seascape they embellished together. Unfortunately, what they added to the waves was a 1717 pirate battle surrounded by vicious hungry sea monsters.

Now Stede's the captive of a mouldy maniac, spared from threats of gruesome torture only as long as he keeps sharing all the Mozart and Bach he can remember from the future, while Lucius and the kids were saved from becoming sabre-toothed shark poo by the crew of the legendary Blackbeard, who is really nothing like the stories.

Sometimes you find your family in very unexpected places. And sometimes a mutiny and a velvety suit help.

This is one of my first attempts in a long time working with colors and by the end of it I was so exhausted I named this "Menstruating Consenting Lady" as in a late capitalism-fascist dystopia for adult content... ▫️ #nsfw #censorship

A first attempt at a colored piece, featuring a woman with long wavy gray hair, with her left arm up, being held by black shadowy hands, on her chest, pulling her white dress down, and in between her legs, where theres a visible line of menstrual blood following down her thighs. He has pointy teeth, a delicate and sacred face, sligghtly blushing, and has soft armpit hair. This a piece criticizing the 2025 censorship over NSFW artworks, women's bodies, sexuality and everything that followed the fascist agenda. If you'd like to support me, commission me through my DMS.

Dark romance is big business, palatable to the mainstream, but dark romance is also constantly judged and stigmatized.

I'm pro fandom as gift economy, I love the concept, but I *also* think glorifying the idea of fic as a selfless gift gets wanky (plus it bugs me that this attitude is only ever applied to fic, not art, which is not inherently "safer").

Chocolatepot @chocolatepot.bsky.social · 24/09/2025

Like. I do think it's fair to critique the fact that the tradpub industry only seems to want to extend these offers to m/f writers. I don't think it's fair to assume that m/f writers are all straight women, any more than it's fair to assume m/m writers are all straight women.

If you haven't given feedback yet, please do. The window is small. The terms on adult content are vague enough to put so many artists at risk of arbitrary interpretation. They conflate fictional situations with real-life abuse. Ask them to revise and clarify.

La Dama Pirata
Chocolatepot
Summary:
“The world is about to witness the Lady Pirate’s first business transaction,” Stede said, out loud to make it real. The dinghy rocked under her feet, and she stumbled forward toward the gunwhale. Everyone else was up on deck: time to follow along and greet her audience.

Her white suit was looking a little worse for wear, but it was fine. It was fine! The light was going, so any of the grime it had picked up in Jackie’z would probably just look like shadows. Cool, mysterious shadows.

Stede Bonnet, the Lady Pirate, attempts to treat with the Spanish navy. Things do not go as planned ...
