I’m 62 and maybe getting old. I watched us under Shankly,Paisley, Fagan & Kenny & I can’t recall booing Souness was awful on occasions. The end of Houllier wasn’t great and Rafa had some poor moments etc But yesterday was the biggest show of disrespect to the players & manager that I can recall.

I know what you mean and I understand too. I’m 62 and been watching Liverpool for decades. Mostly glorious, often just great, sometimes bang average, occasionally terrible. Our fanbase has been consistently supportive of managers and players and returning players over the years.

Arne Slot won us the league title & got us to a cup final in his first season at the club, when practically everyone in football said we’d fall apart when Jürgen left. He has helped everyone at #LFC through their grief. I am not ok with the relish some are taking in attacking him now.

You’re right, very few players have ever been booed into playing better. All these shouts for Jurgen to come back? He’d not recognise our fans from the ones he left 2 years ago and I’m not sure he’d be impressed or enticed into returning if this is how we behave in the ground.

Hodgson was wrapped up with Hicks & Gillett and was doomed from the start - his demeanour, style of play and results were terrible. The nadir being a 0-1 defeat to Wolves; and we still didn’t boo! The only bright spot was that the FA finally gave in and agreed with us to give him the England job 🤣

ISalah in particular had the effect of slowing everything down while Pedro Porro was made up to see Ngumoha leave the field. That allowed him to push forward for the first time in the game Curtis Jones is usually used to slow things down & he’s excellent at that but it wasn’t needed yesterday

Maybe I’m getting old & my memory is going but, of the managers who divided opinion the most, I don’t recall fans booing at the end of Rodgers or Hodgson’s tenures (the anger was rightly directed towards the owners). During the early 90s under Souness was grim at the end but no boos either.
