I wrote a book from 2011-2016. It was a novel-in-stories, and all of it was published in various literary magazines of repute from 2013-2017. Anyway, as one does, I tried to get an agent and failed. I submitted it to indies, and they also did not want it (stories don’t sell)

I came in second place in multiple book contests! It was wild shit. But no one would put it out. So then it just sat on my computer for the last 8 years. For my 40th birthday, my wife surprised me and had it made as a print on demand Amazon hardcover.

Just want to say there is absolutely no monument or park that is as boring and underwhelming as Plymouth Rock. Literally a medium-sized rock in a hole in the ground. Went there on a field trip as a child and was expecting something amazing. It’s like a mini-fridge-sized stone. Who cares!

I’ve never seen it and I wonder if I had seen it if I would like the movie much less. The movie is not surprising at all (every twist and circumstance plays out exactly as you’d expect) so there was limited novelty.

No. It’s a mediocre movie, overall. It FEELS long as you watch it, and I think the director is pretty bad. But the music from Wicked is undeniably good broadway shit and Erivo has an incredible voice. Ariana Grande is also shockingly good.
