Agreed. I feel like we have lost a lot for the sake of convenience. As Cristina said, there are plenty of digital/online only routes, but I don’t think it should be at the expense of in person events, both can hopefully flourish.

I have noticed how few people are grappling with SCOTUS yet again overturning portions of the 14th amendment today (they just invented a trans exception to the equal protection clause). Birthright citizenship doesn’t matter if trans citizens aren’t protected as citizens. It’s an empty marker.

See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.

Oh I think they will still be around, just looking at the rising costs of ram, graphics cards, etc. I think that will slow the PC momentum a bit, but I think with Valve’s box, Project Helix if it sees the light of day, they will start blurring the lines between the two.

Essentially, Marathon (2026) is set up like a horror movie. We’ve only just made it Tau Ceti, it's a ghost town, and we have no idea what occured there. As the events of the original games didnt make it back to earth. The S'pht are in the promotional art / trailers, so its only a matter of time.

Ha, I felt the same way during the server slam. I am not used to sweaty games, and found the fear/stress an oddly fun motivator. Not sure if it has the legs but enjoyed it more than I was expecting.
