I'm confused as to how people can know politicians do politics but still take everything they say at face value. It's all strategy. Dems campaign on healthcare and affordability because those are the top concerns for most people. They need the votes of most people to address all other issues too.

Shannon Taylor has a couple of things going for her. One big thing is that she's well liked by the people who turn out to vote or well liked enough that they'll support her. She shows up to local committee meetings and events. If a Dem is going to flip that district, it's her kind of Dem.
