Was stressed with irl jobrelated stuff. I see there are quite a lot of new people here. And I feel the need to state this: This is my private blog, where I post mostly fish and nonfandom related personal art-things! Nothing else! Thank you!

this #sturgeonsaturday is brought to you by the cutest creature in existence~ a tiny white sturgeon yesterday with the help of citizen scientists we tagged & took minimally invasive samples from a bunch of lil sturgies to assess population stressors ~ so great to see these untagged juveniles! 🧪🌎👩🏻‍🔬🌐

🔴CALLING ALL ARTISTS🔴 Christie's NYC is planning an AI art auction expected to bring in over $600,000 to creators who've used models trained on copyrighted material from non-consenting artists. If you object to this, please sign and share this open letter. openletter.earth/cancel-the-c...

8 February 2025
Cancel the Christie's AI Art Auction

Nicole Sales Giles & Sebastian Sanchez

Christie’s, New York

Dear Nicole and Sebastian,

We are writing to express serious concern over your upcoming auction of AI art at Christie’s.

Many of the artworks you plan to auction were created using AI models that are known to be trained on copyrighted work without a license. These models, and the companies behind them, exploit human artists, using their work without permission or payment to build commercial AI products that compete with them.

Your support of these models, and the people who use them, rewards and further incentivizes AI companies’ mass theft of human artists’ work.

We ask that, if you have any respect for human artists, you cancel the auction.

Yours sincerely,

The undersigned artists

To be fair, Titus (as you know), some sturgeon “fly” without wings 😮😎👍 📸Rob Sabatini

A large sturgeon leaps from the water and appears to “fly” while airborne. Scientists are still unsure why sturgeon leap like this, it may be to shake off parasites, to communicate, or some secret that only living fossils know.

A recently completed illustration of a Tinselfish for today's #SundayFishSketch 🐡

An illustration of a Spotted Tinselfish. The fish is diamond shaped, with the body being nearly as deep as it is long. The fine, elongated scales are silvery/metallic in color, and the fish has a very large eye. 5 long spines are in front of the dorsal fin, and 2 spines are in front of the anal fin. The tail fin has black tips.
