Sort of related. I knew a guy in school who was raised vegan and was surprised when I told him I’d happily eat replicated meat like in Star Trek. It turned out he thought the appeal of meat wasn’t the taste or anything like that; he thought meat eaters got a thrill from knowing it was a dead animal.
