One question: If I want to not apply fog to my skybox, how should I do? Do I need to put it as transparent and manually handle all transparent shaders? Or is there a simpler way, for example for unlit shaders?

Nice! Finally decided to try it after months of envy :D Loving it so far, local, subtractive fog is a killer feature 🔥

Impressive! I’m working on my first multiplayer game, it’s a bug nest 😬 Thanks for your 2 devlogs, they’re well written, useful and entertaining. Also your blog and FOSS work in general

i recently finished v2.0 of my browser-based World of Warcraft level viewer! so here's a thread on what it is, how it works, and a visual history of its development check it out at noclip.website by searching "World of Warcraft", finding a zone you wanna explore, and fly around w/ WASD + mouse

killer feature is its continuous queue: essentially a combined history + on the fly playlist that you can rearrange. Other than that, it's just .mp3 and .m3u files

Comparison to Notion brings another point: project management. Databases and views are too simple. I tried lots of plugins, still searching 😅

Definitely, I tried using Obsidian in a team, it’s weird. Members can work on their specific docs, but it’s so tempting and useful to edit the same doc together. Same for canvas

there's more: inserting pages inside others, embeding of 3d-files, using code blocks as guitar tabs, wide regex replacements, etc. But that'll be it for now. stay safe, stay local <3

of course, another killer feature of obsidian is the graph 🎆 I have 500 notes, 300 pictures, all in one unique folder. the graph shows links between notes, with custom colors. Your own constellation to navigate. (use the GraphFrontier plugin to save graph layout & pin notes)

one missing feature of obsidian is click-image-to-zoom. Luckily, there's a plugin for that <3

Obsidian diverges a little from markdown, for the better. Strict markdown ignore single line breaks, witch I find untenable. By ditching this rule, we can almost have a wysiwyg editor. Here's me toggling between plain text and html output:

Coming from Notion, markdown is cumbersome at first, but having plain text files is a killer feature. you own the thing!! I customized CSS to reduce editing friction. it's now a joy to type .md

what features you want for godot as a mobile platform?

Charles Boury @charlesboury.fr · 07/06/2026
I didn't try the godot editor on mobile but I'm sure it's one of the most usable engines on a handheld device. What tool are you using?
100
Charles Boury @charlesboury.fr · 07/06/2026
it's not related to trackball mouses. The new feature is a way to rotate an object in 3d more freely, instead of having to change the X, Y and Z components of the rotation

Charles Boury @charlesboury.fr · 07/06/2026
Of course, but after you modeled and exported your props, you want to place them in a level, hook some logic with scripts, place collision boxes etc.

Unfortunately, as soon as I tested the latest official build (beta5), I spotted a bug with this feature. So I reported it: github.com/godotengine/... This marks my first ever bug report 🪖 hoping it will be addressed soon

#godot 4.7 is going to have a trackball rotation feature! NICE Doing Level Art in Godot is hard because of its crude 3d gizmos and viewport. Trackball rotation was one of those missing features 🪩

For now it’s a proof of concept, very project specific, and tangled with other features But if we ever polish it for a public release, I guess we won’t take the time to maintain it 🙁
