Many people don't understand probability very well and many of them are resistant to having it explained to them. This leads some designers to creating mechanics that work like the player's instinctive (read: fucking wrong) understanding of probability, further confusing everyone.

One thing that holds me back as a game designer is the size and quality of my PC monitor. I feel like my workflow has been greatly improved by utilising the technology of breaking into my neighbors flat and stealing their giant flatscreen TV
