it is really hard to not hold this position whenever i was able to build a career for myself with absolutely zero education in the field. i didn't have to buy any books, pay for any classes. everything that i know was learned through free information that was accessible to me starting at the age 10

People wrote for literally 6000 years without copyright. Most books written today are not profitable. The fraction of artists, musicians and writers who actually make a living from their work is a minority. AI didn't cause that, and copyright hasn't fixed it.

I at this point think a lot of opposition to AI (especially in math) is well explained by the fact that AI led to a situation where no one (and I btw also include AI agents here not just human agents) could achieve fake immortality anymore as in "being remembered among Noether and other great ones".

The best path to AI cyber safety, imho, is to give the agents a path of least resistance. This is well known in cyber circles. If you make it hard for workers to do their job, or risk termination, they'll circumvent corporate controls to get things done.

Tolkien supposedly hated Dune, and I think it might have something to do with Tolkien the INFP viewing ecology as a moral value vs Herbert the INTP viewing it as a logical system of cause and effect that's at the root here. We can solve the systems problem of ecology but not the moral one.
