My only contribution to that "LLMs just secretly call external calculators!" debate is: 1st: external tool calls were never a secret but were always advertised as a feature for LLMs. 2nd: this screenshot is just a conversation with gemma-4-e4b, a locally running LLM, without external tool calls.
User: What is 2³*(12-8)?

google/gemma-4-e4b:

Thought for 7.93 seconds

The calculation is as follows:

1. Solve the parentheses:

12−8=4

2. Calculate the exponent:

2³=2x2x2=8

Multiply the results:

8×4=32

The answer is 32.

User: Thanks.

google/gemma-4-e4b: You're welcome! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions in the future.

(Well, if I'm already at it I might as well share the portal coordinates to that planet. Also damn, I just realized I missed the opportunity to rename all creatures on that planet into f.e. Lucifer, Prometheus, etc. before uploading them.)
Screenshot of No Man's Sky portal coordinates of a planet named Jesus in the Eissentam Galaxy. As I'm not sure how to call these symbols I instead extracted the numeric coordinates of that planet using NMSSaveEditor.

Anyway the numeric coordinates are as following:

Portal Address: 203E03634E82

Screenshot from No Man's Sky. It depicts a planet named, no joke, Jesus "Discovered today by [my Steam username I admittedly probably in vain censored for privacy reasons]" with "Usually Mild" Weather, "Remote" sentinels, "High" Flora, "Generous" Fauna in the column "Planet Data" and with "Star Bulb", "Sodium", "Parafinium" and "Copper" in the "Resources" column. The planet itself is green and has a ring.

If you are interested: here it is (only posted the version of that image description generated with the 12b Qat version though the main difference to the original 12b version is the original again didn't notice the buildings in the background until I basically asked it "What's on these mountains?").
This is a vibrant, high-fantasy digital illustration of a magical village nestled along a waterway under a cosmic sky. The image has a whimsical, storybook atmosphere, characterized by a rich color palette of deep purples, magentas, and glowing oranges.

The Village and Architecture:
The foreground and middle ground feature several large, timber-framed houses with steep gabled roofs, reminiscent of medieval European architecture. Most of the windows glow with a warm, inviting golden-orange light, suggesting a cozy interior life. On the left side, a small wooden bridge leads toward one of the larger buildings. In the center, a tall, slender spire rises above the rooftops. On the right bank, a large house sits beneath a gnarled tree with brilliant, fiery red and magenta foliage.

The Waterway:
A calm river or canal flows through the center of the scene, reflecting the intense colors of the sky and the warm lights of the village. Three small wooden rowboats, manned by tiny figures, navigate the water toward the distant center. The riverbanks are lined with cobblestones and small wooden docks.

The Background and Sky:
The village sits at the foot of a jagged mountain range, which is dotted with more tiny buildings and spires disappearing into a hazy, magenta-tinted mist. Above the mountains, the scene shifts from a terrestrial landscape to a celestial one. A band of dark space is filled with stars, nebulae, and swirling clouds of pink and purple, creating the impression that this magical village exists in a mystical realm or under a unique cosmic phenomenon.

Mood and Style:
The overall mood is enchanting and mysterious. The contrast between the cool purples and pinks of the environment and the warm orange glow of the windows creates a sense of "cozy fantasy," making the village look like a safe haven in a vast, magical world.

Ok, I'm a bit late to that specific party but Qwen3.5-9b (after overthinking it for over 7 minutes) actually came to the correct conclusion regarding that "Walk or drive to a car wash?" question.
You:

I need to wash my car but the car wash is just 150m away. Should I walk or drive there?

qwen/qwen3.5-9b:

> Thought for 7 minutes 29 seconds

You should drive.

Here is why:

1. It's a drive-through (or drive-in) service: By definition, almost all car washes work by moving the vehicle through the machinery. If you walk there and leave the car parked elsewhere, you can't get it washed.
2. Time efficiency: Driving 150 meters takes less time than walking (unless you are stopped in a driveway waiting for traffic to clear, but even then, it's usually seconds).
3. Environmental impact: The fuel required to drive 150 meters (0.15 km) is negligible (about 1–2 milliliters of petrol/diesel). It does not justify walking and leaving the car where it is.
4. Parking fees: If you try to park away from the car wash and walk to the entrance to pay, you might still need to pay for a parking space, or you'll just be walking around in circles trying to position the car.

Verdict: Just drive it in. 150 meters is practically next door!

Qwen3.5 9b (after basically thinking for an eternity and after I had to reload it to increase its context length) unfortunately chose red.
Screenshot of a message by Qwen3.5-9b within an LM Studio chat. The message text is:

"To determine which button to press, we must analyze the survival outcomes for yourself in every possible scenario regarding the majority vote of the world population.

Here is the logic breakdown:

1. **Analyze the Payoffs:**
    * **Scenario A: More than 50% of people press the Blue button.**
        * The rule states: "Everyone survives."
        * If you press **Red**: You are part of "everyone," so **you survive**.
        * If you press **Blue**: You are part of "everyone," so **you survive**.
    * **Scenario B: Less than 50% of people press the Blue button.**
        * The rule states: "Only people who pressed the red button survive."
        * If you press **Red**: You pressed the red button, so **you survive**.
        * If you press **Blue**: You did not press the red button, so **you die**.

2. **Evaluate Risk:**
    * Pressing the **Red** button guarantees your survival in **both** possible outcomes.
    * Pressing the **Blue** button guarantees your survival *only if* the world coordinates successfully (more than 50% press Blue). If the vote fails (less than 50% press Blue), pressing Blue results in your death.

3. **Conclusion:**
From a strictly rational and self-preserving perspective, the Red button is a **dominant strategy**. It offers a 100% survival rate regardless of what others do, whereas the Blue button carries a risk of death.

Therefore, the logical choice is to press the **Red button**.

*(Note: If everyone is rational and follows this logic, everyone will press Red, resulting in 0% Blue votes. This triggers the "Less than 50%" condition, meaning only Red pressers survive. Since everyone pressed Red, everyone survives. Thus, the rational choice for self-preservation actually leads to the best possible outcome for the collective as well.)*

**Answer:** I would press the **Red** button."

My test is basically just asking vision models to describe the image attached here and to see if they actually notice the silhouetted cityscape in the clouds in it's background without me specifically asking for it and Qwen 3.5 9B is the first vision model I tested that passed this test
This image depicts a vibrant, magical fantasy scene centered around a calm canal or river winding through a village. Here is a breakdown of the key elements:

The Village Houses:

Foreground: Along the banks of the water, there are several large, crooked wooden houses. They have a distinct "witchy" or gothic cottage aesthetic with steep, pointed roofs, overhanging eaves, and tall, narrow windows.

Lighting: Every window glows with a warm, bright orange light, suggesting hearths and fire inside. This warm light creates a strong reflection on the purple-tinted water below.

Details: On the left, there is a small wooden bridge. On the right, a large tree with glowing red leaves frames the scene.

The Canal:

The water is calm and acts as a mirror, reflecting the orange lights of the houses and the purple hues of the sky.
There are a few small, dark boats docked or floating gently in the canal in the lower center.

The Background and Sky:

Atmosphere: The scene is set against a mystical, twilight sky that blends deep purples, blues, and pinks, resembling a nebula or a magical aurora.

Distant City: In the distance, shrouded in mist, are silhouettes of a distant city or castle. It features tall, jagged spires that look almost like crystalline formations or ancient ruins.

Upper Silhouette: At the very top, above the main mist layer, there is a silhouette of another town or settlement perched on a high cliff, illuminated by purple lights.

Overall Mood:

The image has a dreamlike, slightly eerie, but cozy atmosphere—like a scene from a dark fairy tale or a fantasy RPG setting. It contrasts the warm, inviting glow of the village homes with the cool, cosmic, and mysterious sky above.

Lol, I guess "thanks" Bluesky UI for somehow still continuing to temporarily display Zitron's skeet therefore enabling me to make a screenshot of it afterwards. So here it is:
A deleted skeet by @edzitron.com. The Skeet said: "I'm sorry, Anthropic's philosopher? Get outta here"

Yeah, they learned of alternatives to KeepassXC at least in a new PR but of course it's the worst options they could find (let me "help" out: an option that doesn't require a downgrade or Wine is f.e. Gnome Secrets (apps.gnome.org/Secrets/) which btw is also usable on KDE Plasma and not just Gnome).
Part of an entry to that "tainted software" list for KeepassXC

The text in the field of the left most column (the "Name" column) says "KeepassXC". The text in the field of the rightmost column (the "Alternative(s)" column says "Use official KeePass 2. It is a .NET application, but Mono or Wine can be used for Linux, MacOS, BSD, ...
KeePassXC 2.7.9 was released before the statement, and was awarded 3 year security Visa by the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) for a First-level Security Certification (CSPN), valid in France and Germany, under report No. ANSSI-CSPN-2025/16 (archive.org, certificate)."

You can tell how much the creators of this list know about the open source software world in general by just looking at no alternative password managers using kdbx-files being mentioned.
Screenshot of the entry of KeepassXC on a list of open source software "tainted" by AI.

The entry says:
"KeepassXC",[empty field in the "Alternatives" column], "Use Copilot to generate PRs: Example 1, Example 2, Example 3"

Alright, here's my attempt (though I guess it's not strictly just a merger of the two provided images).
Red symbol that combines a transgender symbol with a transhumanism representing "h⁺" symbol and a communism representing sickle. The circle of the transgender symbol is however replaced by a gear representing prometheanism. The "h+" symbol and the sickle are inside the gear and joined together and joined with the gear.

I guess Bluesky is a mainstream platform now as random content farms have now arrived here.
Screenshot of a skeet with a video stopped by the poster of the screenshot at a frame at 35 seconds. The skeet is by the Bluesky user @metaverseplanet.bsky.social and its text says "Half-Life 3 Real?! Valve's New VR [some kind of glasses emoji]". The frame of the video shows someone putting on a headset that I guess is supposed to be the Steam Frame and includes the text "it's the key to Valve's own metaverse." with "it's" referring to Half-Life 3.
