Pretty pumped to be named a semifinalist in Final Draft's Big Break contest with my western As Good A Place As Any. Very proud of the script and very proud of the placement. Fingers crossed to make the finalist group! #scriptsky

Offspring, Americana. A Christmas gift from my older sister. That said, the first CD I ever bought for myself was Godzilla: The Album. Some real bangers on that one.

If it doesn't already exist, there should be a Criterion-type service for TV shows.

I live in a town of about 20k people. It's growing fast. Popular place to move into. I learned recently the Mayor earns something like $130 a month. Each member of the borough council makes like $120 per month. How can anyone afford to be in public service? Especially in smaller towns?

My script OLYMPIANS SAVE THE WORLD made the QFs of the Emerging Screenwriters Sci-Fi & Fantasy competition. It's good to see that after nearly a decade away from screenwriting those muscles haven't totally atrophied. #scriptsky (Reposting because I forgot the dang hash tag before)

AD ASTRA is beautiful and contemplative, with interesting themes about abandonment, becoming your father, and letting go of trauma, and a wonderfully restrained performance from Brad Pitt. And every half hour or so it becomes a Benny Hill sketch for 10 minutes. Also a total waste of Liv Tyler.

One year ago today I began a four-month sabbatical. I saw a lot of movies, did some volunteering, finished a novel and wrote a screenplay, and slipped into debt. I was also less stressed and more present than I've ever been. Miss you, sabbatical.

Fun fact about me: When I first discovered IMDB in the early aughts, I spent hours browsing the database by year. Somewhere along the way IMDB did away with that feature, which broke my heart. I searched high and low for it, but it's gone. And then I recently discovered that Letterboxd has it!
