I know everything is bad, but check this out: Using miracle material for which its founder won the chemistry Nobel last year, a startup has built a working device that can harvest clean water from air using the heat emitted from a data center. @mollytaft.com and @blkahn.bsky.social have the scoop:

A Startup Has a Plan to Make Water From Air Using Data Centers’ Waste Heat
Atoco’s new machines use specialized materials that can harvest water from some of the driest air on Earth without using electricity.

Really important point i hadn't seen yet, which is that AI data center proposals are concentrated in gas reservoir basins, bypassing federal permitting altogether by avoiding the need for interstate pipelines. All of the smoke about transmission costs reforms look different in this light.

Biking gets me everywhere faster than the bus does, and I don’t have to wait 15mins for a transfer. It’s been very liberating! People have asked me what I did to become comfortable biking since I was nervous before so here it is ⬇️

The extreme dangers posed for cyclists are the narrow bike lanes. No where for cyclists to go when encountering low limbs or debris/leaves in the lane. Additionally, faster cyclists are forced to the car lane and trying to get out of the bike lane to turn left is beyond ridiculous. :(

A federal judge in Oregon ruled that the Trump administration broke the law when it tried to shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This is a win for every Oregonian who's ever been hit with a hidden fee or a loan that wasn't what they were promised.
AG Rayfield wins court order keeping Consumer Financial Protection Bureau fundedAG Rayfield is celebrating a ruling by a federal judge in Oregon keeping the CFPB funded. The CFPB is the federal agency that looks out for people in their dealings with banks, lenders, credit card companies, and debt collectors - and it has returned more than $21 billion to consumers. The judge ruled that the Trump administration broke the law when it tried to shut down the CFPB by refusing to ask for the money it needs to operate. AG Rayfield led the multi-state lawsuit.“Protecting the wallets of working families, seniors, and small businesses should be a bipartisan priority. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau does critical work to protect consumers from financial tricks and traps, putting billions back in the pockets of people who’ve been harmed. This ruling is a win for every Oregonian who's ever been hit with a hidden fee or a loan that wasn't what they were promised.”
