Trump likes Andy Burnham. I wonder how long that will last before Trump throws a hissy fit and hates him

I T H E W E I G H T O F S O L I T U D E I A powerful new charcoal study exploring the raw physicality of introspection and vulnerability — The Asylum Art — #CharcoalDrawing #FineArt #FigurativeArt #EmotionalArt #TheWeightOfSolitude #StudioArt #BlackAndWhiteArt #monochrome #cptsd #art

This evocative charcoal drawing, rendered in a dramatic chiaroscuro style, captures a raw, vulnerable moment of self-containment. The viewer is presented with a close-up, back-view of a figure with disheveled, curly hair, who is deeply hunched forward, almost retreating into themselves. The pose is protective and melancholic, conveying profound introspection and perhaps sorrow, as the figure’s own hands grip tightly onto their opposite shoulders and arms.
The execution emphasizes texture and form; the deep, smudged shadows of the background contrast sharply with the detailed musculature, spine, and shoulder blades of the figure. The visible cross-hatching and blending marks inherent to charcoal add a sense of tactile immediacy, as if the viewer is witnessing the artist's direct exploration of emotional weight. It is a powerful depiction of the physical and psychological experience of isolation.

Honestly, I’m tired. So many of us are just tired. To everyone who is dedicating their time to make life safer for women and girls, we owe you a great deal.

I T H E W E I G H T O F B E I N G S E E N I Sometimes the hardest thing isn’t being alone, it’s allowing yourself to be seen. The Weight of Being Seen. — The Asylum Art — #AbstractArt #Expressionism #ContemporaryArt #EmotionalArt #ArtOfTheDay #Loneliness #Vulnerability #FineArt #art

$solitary figure folds inward, caught between vulnerability and self-protection. His gaze meets the viewer, yet his body remains guarded, as though being seen is both a longing and a threat. Thick, fractured layers of paint break across the figure and the surrounding darkness, transforming the original stillness into something raw and wounded. The black, charcoal, rust, and muted earth tones create an atmosphere of isolation, while flashes of light cling to the body like fragments of a self that refuses to disappear. The Weight of Being Seen explores loneliness, vulnerability, and the exhausting tension between wanting to be understood and wanting to hide. We're doing #WorldSuicidePreventionDay at work today because it's World Suicide Prevention Day. Two things: 1. We love you; 2. Don't even get to the point where you realise there's nothing that can't be changed except that you'll no longer be around to change it; 3. We love you. Okay, three things.x
