One of my colleagues is presenting a beautiful, complex spreadsheet with formulas for community management data and everyone in the Zoom chat is losing their mind and hyping her up 🤩 Nothing gets dev community folks riled up like a spreadsheet!

Two resources I recommend for web developers are the “Front End Developer/Engineer Handbook” from Frontend Masters and “The Framework Field Guide” by Corbin Crutchley.

Finally got around to reading this and absolutely loved it. “Elsewhere” by Zevin was one of my favorite books in high school and returning to her writing style felt like catching up with an old friend. I’m married to a game dev so all the gaming lore was fun as well. A beautiful read.

It’s so cool to make a game and then watch people play it! @bigplay.bsky.social and I made a physical card game for the ATL Game Jam and put it to the test tonight at the Game Dev Meetup. Check it out on the submission page below and play at home with a deck of cards 🃏 itch.io/jam/atljam24...

A group of people around a table playing a card game

The front of a printed brochure with the text:

Card
CONQUERER
Fight to survive!
Last one standing wins
2-10+ players
1-2 decks of playing cards

A printed brochure page with the following text:

Wild Cards
ACE-SASSIN: Ace ALWAYS wins
EXCEPT loses to a 2 or "3 LIKE ME”
Face cards are worth 10, get no speed bonus. Higher royalty wins.
CRAZY 8s: If both duelers play 8, the player lower on the slap speed chain wins regardless of bonus
7 ALWAYS beats 9
Joker value is 2D6 roll
10 ALWAYS
loses to face card
3 LIKE ME: A 3 ALWAYS wins against a card of its own suit
(Even over Aces!)
FOUR MORE: Playing a 4 lets you play other 4s in hand to score

Did a ride to downtown on the new bike, and took the roads instead of beltline/freedom trail. My average HR is high because it spiked from anxiety when a taxi honked at me multiple times 😅 A good ride otherwise and I’m getting slightly more comfortable sharing the streets with Atlanta drivers

Really disappointed with Delta. I understand mistakes happen, but repeatedly having agents be rude, immediately assume I made a mistake (I didn’t), or pass me off to someone else who also can’t help is so frustrating. Hoping this is a blip and not a sign that service is going downhill.

After fighting their way into the post season tournament, showing grit, determination and the intestinal fortutide a champion must have, we have new champions in The Hammer, Poobah & Dre! All Hail the Grand Rollers! What a season it was! We saw multiple former champions out there to reclaim their title and, as in every season, some contenders come and make their mark.
Congratulations Hammer, Poobah, & Dre!!
Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a great season. We look forward to having everyone back out next year, so be on the lookout for communications coming out next spring.
