I planned to attend outdoor crafting events and to invite friends to them for the past 3 Sundays. For the past 3 Sundays, it has rained incessantly. All 3 events were cancelled. why Also I've started to knit my first ever sweater yay

Got a new job as a historic interpreter/educator at the Old North Church in Boston, in addition to my pre existing teaching assistant job!! Yay! But unfortunately I think I'll have to stop volunteering at a bookstore every Thursday, which was the highlight of my week 🥲 wah

turns out the cure for job application related anxiousness is going to random events and talking to friends! would still like for employers to reply to my emails in a timely manner though. please (I can go back to TAing in the Fall, but I would like a job now/a different full time one ideally)

there's a bookstore job I wanna apply to but one of the requirements is that you read a wide, diverse variety of books. You have to list the 3 most recent books you've read. I solely read 19th c. "classics" (I hate that term but w/e)😭I am NOT getting this job (I'll apply anyway)

Coming up on the 1 year anniversary of me starting to read Les Mis and ngl I'm missing it so bad. Reading like 30 pages of Les Mis per day was one of the absolute highlights of last summer. But alas! I'm too busy to reread it rn (and have around 10,000 other books I want to read) 🥲

I usually don't mind being hard of hearing but sometimes it's so annoying. Why is my hearing aid not functioning properly rn?!! Why does everything sound quieter and muddled. It's frustrating having something as important as hearing be dependent on technology that can be faulty :/

Watched the new Frankenstein movie w/ some friends and. It was a bad adaptation & due to the severely on the nose lines I think it was a bad standalone movie too unfortunately However! I'm now extremely motivated to reread Frankenstein!! :D once I'm done with Shelley the Pursuit I definitely will

It's absolutely wild how much more social I am now that I've had top surgery and been on T for 2 years. Like before I wanted to socialize but somehow it felt like it was impossible for me to?? Or very difficult. But it's so easy now!! I really enjoy it!! Man I wish I physically transitioned earlier

Ive been wishing I could roller skate to class for years, since walking there is painfully slow. But roller skating seems scary tbh, how on earth do you control it well at all (especially in a hilly area like the one I live in)

First day of TAing is done 🫡 not much happened but 1) Professor Proctor is the best omg & 2) I was the only non-grad student there, so it was a bit awkward at points but I will try to overcome my nervousness and talk to them more!! the only regret with transitioning i have is that i didn’t act on it sooner even though it’s what i wanted. in the last decade we finally got a point where it was socially acceptable for people to transition younger, and they’re trying to take that away and it breaks my heart
