Discoverability for new SFF books seems way down these days, especially outside of bestsellers and certain subgenres. I'm noticing this as both a reader and a writer. Great stuff is in danger of sinking without a trace. Please post about new/recent books you love or are excited for!!! I'll start:

My third novel, HERO COME HOME, officially has a cover! Preorderable from the usual places us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
The cover of my third novel, HERO COME HOME. Four human figures centred, the main image being that of a bearded man looking back over his shoulder (that's Oro, the protagonist), with a circle of symbols behind him. We can see a swan and a key. In the foreground are three people: two women, one with a mysterious marking? scar? who knows!? on her cheek and the other carrying a sword, flanking an older, balding man holding up a pistol. The possibly-scarred woman looks ever so slightly amused, and that is certainly very like her. Everybody else is not happy to be here, or indeed, anywhere

Also even if you’re just narrowly focused on “library means reading,” board games are a way that kids who aren’t so sure about reading can be convinced that the library and exposed to books!

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see Sarah, the protagonist, next to a stick figure labeled “AI”. The stick figure says, “my outputs look just like yours now.”
The second panel zooms in on Sarah’s face. Above her we see text reading “I think”.
The third panel zooms in closer on Sarah’s face. Text above her reads “you missed”.
The fourth panel shows Sarah drawing happily in a sunlit room. The text above her reads “the point”.

Do you think there’s an audience for a queer Romance of Manners a la Jane Austen, set in a secondary world, where the protags (M/M) are over 35 & family’s just as important as the “couple problems”? Oh, and the colonialism inherent in Regency & Victorian romances is actually addressed. LET ME KNOW 😇

In addition to all the things you've listed, I'm finding the action scenes incredible so far! Tense, fast-paced, clear on what's happening, and it's rare IMO to get all three of those at once

Right. I just went back to the Anthropic settlement website and checked the form. It specifies you must be legal, beneficial, or sole owner of the exclusive right to reproduce a copyrighted work, and offers this list of possible claimants. Note the absence of 'literary agent'.
Question 7, 'claimant type' offers options Author, Publisher, Author Loan-Out Company, Literary Trust, Literary Estate, Other (please describe). There is no clickable Agent option.

An Amazon 1-star review with the following text:

Lesbian romance disguised as sci-fi

It's not sci-fo or fantasy - it's a lesbian love story. That's okay if you're a lesbian. But if you're looking for a sci-fi fantasy it's a heck of a disappointment

In the Renaissance people theorized, since the Aeneid is great, if you wrote poems made only of words & phrases from the Aeneid rearranged they should be great too, since a great source regurgitated should yield greatness. They produced NOTHING we still read. Thinking about that a lot lately.
